We know that at this very moment we are living in the prophetic end days the Bible predicted thousands of years ago. We see an oil crisis in the Middle East, the resurgence of Russia, and a new axis of evil forming, Israel's importance as well as new powers forming in the European Union. Yet in the midst of these world crises, how as Christians do we deal with them? This is a great book I read and finished in the same day by Thomas Nelson publishers. It gives insight in how to deal with the very things, we in the United States, are dealing with right now. The loss of jobs, the foreclosures of homes everywhere, and even the huge losses in the financial industry, yet, we can rejoice. We have a hope that outlasts this world into our future home in heaven. This book offers the biblical answers of what as Christians we should be doing each and every day to prevent the stresses and anxiety from overwhelming us. The book takes you through the ten steps, every Christian must know in facing the coming signs. The book offers Biblical instruction to guide you through handling each and every situation as well as real world headlines to show how others didn't handle it so well. From the banking and financial turmoil striking our banks and mortgage industries we are shown how some such as Adolf Merckle, heir to the Merck & Co. pharmaceutical company, took his own life rather than deal with the issues at hand. There are stories ripped right from the headlines today, such as the conviction of Laura Ling and Euna Lee in North Korea for spying when they were there just to report on human trafficking; how a family in San Diego was informed that they could no longer conduct a Bible Study in their home, due to unlawful religious assembly without a permit; or the constant persecution by the media and Hollywood of the Christian religion and the mockery of Jesus Christ. The current North Korean and Iran nuclear programs are discussed as well as past histories of some of the holocaust survivors and how they handled adversity that we too are finding ourselves dealing with. The back cover suggests the answers to the most urgent questions, including * How can we weather this storm with a calm heart? * What does it truly mean to "wait on the Lord"? * What is Jesus saying to our chaotic world today? * How on earth did we get into this mess? * Can we take a broken world and rebuild it into something fruitful? The book is a must read. It has completely changed my entire outlook on the lives, we as Christians, should be living up until that day that our Lord returns. Each day that passes is one day closer to His imminent return and He is coming back. The choice for the believer is how do we want to be seen living our last days when He does come back for us.

As expected, the message is biblical, relevant, and encouraging. The writing is comfortable and easy to read. After an introduction that reminds us, in some very interesting ways, just how chaotic things have gotten in the past year, Dr. Jeremiah calmly and patiently reminds us of great truths. He consistently points to Christ as our Savior and only hope. I am consistently in need of reminders of what God has done for me, what He promises me, and how I should respond. This book is a great reminder, every chapter provides Scripture and practical evidence of the Truth and what my response should be.

This is not a book is not one that I would have gone to the bookstore and picked out on my own. As I usually lean towards Amish Fiction or family focused. This book however was a very good and easy read. I became engrossed in the every page with all details in facts, solid Bible referencing and humor. He was able to grasp the questions I have been having about where the world is and was able to give me ease in what I have been feeling. His focus on the "One and Another" ministry and the sacred need as Christians growing through the one on one and small group ministries, truly touched my heart. As Christians, we should be focused on God and preparing those around us for our journey home. This book is great for those who feel that they have lost everything, those who have questions about where this world is going, and for those who are looking for reassurance in God's plans. I will definitely be passing this book along.

Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World offers hope to people worried about our current, mind-boggling economic crises, other potentially catastrophic events, and increasingly difficult, personal struggles of life. New York Times best-selling author, Dr. Jeremiah examines a variety of traumatic situations and offers wise solutions richly backed up by the Word of God. With the added use of extensive research and scores of thought-provoking anecdotes, the author shows us that God has answers for the world's problems. But He needs individual believers to help Him provide them. In this easy-to-read book laid out in his usual concise and logical manner, Dr. Jeremiah challenges us to examine our lives and weigh them against the words and walk of Jesus Christ. In ten main topics such as "Stay Challenged," "Stay Compassionate," and "Stay Connected," he reminds us that while prayer is important, it's only the first step to fulfilling the plan of God. We must also lay aside selfish pursuits and embrace the admonition to be doers of the Word and not hearers only. When we truly become living epistles, hurting and fearful people in our spheres of influence will be drawn to the One we should represent and reflect. I don't rate a book a 5-star unless it really moves me. Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World is one of those books. It inspires me to live a Christ-like life more than ever before, take up my cross on a daily basis to follow Jesus, and trust God and His Word to take care of the rest. I highly recommend it.

This is a fantastic book but really should be book2 of a two part sell. This book will calm you down if you are in a state of crisis over the turmoil and unease that is going on around us as the world literally crumbles ..but is it really falling apart? What does God promise? Rread this book and buy one for that frazzled neighbor you have been worring over. Hope is not lost; hope is ours because of the promise of God. I can not really say more without spoiling the book -- buy this one its a must read.

This was an incredible book with lots of helpful information. The author, Dr. David Jeremiah does a great job illustrating how we should behave and how to go forward in a chaotic ever changing world. This book encourages faith and hope in Jesus Christ. It encourages love for one another and all mankind. This book serves as a reminder that even though everything in the world may seem to be falling apart around us, we can still have a solid foundation with God and his son Christ Jesus. The book focuses on several main points that are demonstrated in each chapter. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends, family and anyone else for that matter to share the good information and the truth of Jesus Christ. What a great book that gives us several Biblical references to God's promises to us and how we can be confident when the world is in chaos. Being in the Word and being constantly reminded of what we have in Him is the most effective tool in being confident when the world around us in shambles. This book points us to the specific places in the Word where we can read about these Truths and calm our hearts. I found this book to be a great reminder of exactly what we need to remember to keep us from getting caught up in the crises of this world. We are in a time of chaos with our economy and so many people are seeking answers and comfort as to how to cope in these hard times. This book points us to the ONLY place where those answers can be found, the Bible. Not only is this book a reminder for Christians, it would be a wonderful way for non-believers to be introduced to the hope that they can have in Jesus. I highly recommend this book and plan to introduce it to family and friends who I know could use a secure and unfailing hope no matter what any of us have faced, are facing or will face in this world. God is bigger than any of this chaos and we can fully put our confidence in Him. I'm a member of Thomas Nelson's Book Review Blogger program. http://brb.thomasnelson.com/

Dr. Jeremiah reminds us that even during today's uncertain, chaotic times, God has promised to always be here for us. We need to find comfort in trusting Him and His plan for us. He explains that we need to remain calm, compassionate, constructive, challenged, connected, centered, confident, consistent, committed, and convinced in our daily lives. For each characteristic that he tells us to practice, he explains how and why through stories and lots of Scriptural quotations. Dr. Jeremiah uses the Word of God to teach us how to have hope and confidence. In his book, he discusses some of today's events and shows how they fit in with the Bible's end-time prophesies. I really enjoyed reading the parallels between what's happening in our world today and what God tells us will happen during the apocalypse. I found this book to be very motivational and reassuring. Too often we get caught up in today's struggles and forget that God is in charge of our journey. For believers, this book should serve as a wake up call to remember what God has told us about the end times. At the end of the book, Dr. Jeremiah asks us two questions. I won't spoil it for those of you who haven't read the book yet but I will tell you that if you read this book with an open heart and an open mind, this book has the potential to be life changing.

So many things are happening in this world, and how are we suppose to stay confident in it? In 'Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World' by Dr. David Jeremiah addresses these issues and many more, and answers urgent questions like: How can we weather this storm with a calm heart? What does it truly mean to "wait on the Lord"? What is Jesus saying to our chaotic world today? How on earth did we get into this mess? Can we take a broken world and rebuild it into something fruitful? This book is up to date with current events like the loss of jobs, the fight for oil in the Middle East, wars, and much more. He gives the reader biblical advice on what we should do next. Some of the most important lessons he tells us is to stay calm, compassionate, constructive, and much more (Each chapter is based on a lesson, which is the chapters name). This book is a must read! It helps you know what you need to do in a world that is always changing and how to be confident while you do it! This is an easy read and you wont get confused while reading it!

"Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World" is not really a book about living in the end times. While Dr. David Jeremiah discusses the "chaos" of modern times, as well as Christ's return plenty, his book comes across more as a book on living out the Christian faith - a how-to book, you might say. But Jeremiah goes much deeper than your typical how-to book, providing thought-provoking truths and using Scripture to remind readers of what it means to be a Christian. Jeremiah asserts that, although the world may seem chaotic, Christians should stay calm, show compassion and love, stay constructive (that is, build each other up as the body of Christ), stay challenged and diligent in the faith, stay connected in a Christian community (there's no excuse for skipping church), stay centered on Christ, stay confident in the Bible and in faith (and don't be afraid to preach it), stay consistent (abide in Christ), stay committed and stay convinced (have patience, for Christ promised to return in God's perfect timing). Jeremiah's writing is much more convicting that his book title makes it out to be. And although a lot of what he writes is obvious, it never bores. This is a must read for any Christian.

When I first received this book, I thought it would be one of those feel-good theology books. You know, those "God will prosper you no matter what, don't worry". But no, this book soberly faces reality, and counsels you on the best course of action---setting your mind on God---without going into virtual reality. My family read this book after me, and they were impressed and genuinely inspired by it. I would recommend this, really, to people that need it :). Four stars.

I like how Dr. David Jeremiah wrote this book, very organized and easy to understand. It is also very relevant in our times and will surely help every Christian in living victoriously in our troubled world.

Dr. David Jeremiah reminds Christians of the importance of being grounding in a thorough knowledge and application of the Bible. This quick-paced book is divided into the following ten chapters: 1. Stay Calm 2. Stay Compassionate 3. Stay Constructive 4. Stay Challenged 5. Stay Connected 6. Stay Centered 7. Stay Confident 8. Stay Consistent 9. Stay Committed 10. Stay Convinced If you follow Dr. Jeremiah's other ministries regularly, this book will not add a great deal of new insight. However, it is a concise summary of some of his latest thinking. Full disclosure: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.

Living With Confidence in a Chaotic World written by Dr. David Jeremiah is a follow up to the book What in the World Is Going On? In this book, Dr. Jeremiah brings comfort and hope directly from the bible, answers questions, but most important, he showcases God's love and power. I was excited to get this book. It was sold in the bookstore at our old church, people seemed to love it. I, on the other hand, couldn't get into it. It's a good book, don't get me wrong, there is a ton of facts, and it is biblically based. There are some great historical facts that are enlightening as well as a few stories about "real people", it is well written and does not waver on biblical principals. There just wasn't anything in it that I couldn't get from my bible. I think it would be perfect for someone who is still trying to find their way around the bible. I hope that you check this book out and see for yourself! *I received this book free from Thomas Nelson Publishers. I am not required to write a positive review. Product Description Practical instruction for living a confident life in a world filled with chaos and crisis. In the New York Times bestseller What in the World Is Going On? Dr. David Jeremiah summarized ten prophetic clues that are coming true in our own generation. In light of these chaotic events, how can we continue to live a life of commitment and confidence? Looking through the lens of the same verses that speak of Christ's return, Dr. Jeremiah now points us to the habits we must establish that will form a pattern for living with certain hope in our uncertain times. They include how to stay: Centered in Christ Committed to the Word Compassionate toward others Connected to the church Consistent in your walk Calm in your heart Certain of His coming Confident in your faith About the Author Dr. David Jeremiah is the senior pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon, California. He is the author of several best-selling books, and his popular syndicated radio and television Bible teaching program, Turning Point, is broadcast internationally. David and his wife, Donna, have four children and ten grandchildren. In this book the reader is challenged to stay compassionate, constructive, centered, and confident; living life with the guidance of God's Word. This is a book that I will read again, and this time, I will have the highlighters and pen out to take notes. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has issues dealing with stress in today's world. Please note that Thomas Nelson Publishing has provided me a complimentary copy of this book for my review; however, the opinions are my own. I have not been required to publish a positive review.

Dr. David Jeremiah first grabbed reader's attention with his book titled What in the World Is Going On? In it he drew parallels between events happening in modern times and prophesies found in the Old Testament. In his new book Living With Confidence in a Chaotic World Dr. Jeremiah once again touches on how events today were predicted in Revelations. He then goes on to offer spiritual guidance by pointing us to the verses in the Bible which tell us how Christians are to survive in this "new" and uncertain world. Continuing in his theme to help provide answers and reassurances to Christians, Dr. Jeremiah has another best seller. If you read the previous book then you must read this one as well!

I recently received a free copy of Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World by Dr. David Jeremiah from Booksneeze courtesy of Thomas Nelson Publishing. Dr. Jeremiah paints a vivid picture of what is wrong with the world today within a few pages. Then he takes you through the Bible verses that you can rely on to bring hope, comfort, courage and assurance to defeat the world's anxiety. As I began reading the first few pages I began wondering if the whole book was going to be so abrupt and to the point. I feared Dr. Jeremiah was going to start predicting the end of times. Though he forewarns of the inevetibility of the end, the book is more focused on how to survive as Christians until then. God has given us all that we need in the Bible to face life, yet often life gets so crazed we fall into our sinful nature and rely on ourselves for the answers. In Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World the reader is given God's promises and instructions on dealing with the grim worldly problems. When financial outlooks, terrorism threats, corruption and the plethora of other problems seem to be getting worse everyday we are to view them with an eternal view. Paul instructed the churches to encourage and support one another almost two thousan years ago. That instruction still applies. Christians are to stay connected, consistent and hopeful among other things. When we apply what Dr. Jeremiah writes we will find courage and confidence in our faith. Some glorious day we will be able to stand in front of Christ with due reverence and know we did what we were meant to do on this earth for him. I am truly blessed for having read Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World.
