Lost and Found by Talia Jager

Korinne was born addicted to drugs, and life has been headed downhill ever since. After her abusive mom is arrested, Korinne is given a second chance when she’s placed in foster care. There she meets the girl who becomes her best friend and the boy she falls in love with.

When her mother is released from jail, she demands that Korinne be returned to her care. Korinne runs away only to end up living on the streets. After suffering an overdose, she awakes in the hospital…and finds out she’s pregnant.

16-year-old Korinne must pick up the pieces and heal so she can provide a better life for her baby—and for herself.

Lost and Found is recommended for grade 9 and up.

About the Author

Talia Jager has been writing as far back as she can remember. As a child, her summer vacations were spent writing stories. Bedtimes were ignored when she hid under the covers with a flashlight, a notebook and a pen. At school, she kept her works-in-progress under her classwork.

She took creative writing and journalism in high school and graduated with a major in English and a minor in French. She later earned her college degree in early childhood education. Writing was pushed to the side when she fell in love and had a family.

Now, with the support of her family, she has several published books and continues to write young adult dramas.

Talia lives in Texas with her husband and five daughters. Her published works include Damaged: Natalie's Story, Teagan's Story: Her Battle With Epilepsy, If I Die Young, The Ultimate Sacrifice, Secret Bloodline, and Lost and Found. She has also contributed to a Halloween themed short story collection, The Halloween Collection from the Indie Eclective. She hopes to have her next book out by the end of 2011.

I don't usually read teen drama, but when the author asked me to beta read this book I said yes because I love her paranormals. Lost and Found touched me to my very core. It's easy to say one understands that the world is a nasty place; but when an author can capture so vividly the abuse, hate, and neglect and then give the girl an amazing, heartwarming story? Beautiful. Lost and Found is the story of one girl's struggle to overcome abuse and find herself in the process. I highly recommend it.

I have read a few books by Talia Jager. This book is truely AMAZING! I went through so many emotions reading this book; you definately need to keep the tissues handy. I felt myself being pulled into the book and held captive by the content. Korrine was an AMAZINGLY strong character, and found myself rooting for all that she went through. The story is about a young adult that starts out life in a bad way and all the heartache and obstacles she had to overcome to be the young woman she turns out to be. Definately a MUST READ! I found it very hard to put down. I promise you; this is definately a book that will hold you captive and won't let you go from beginning to end. This has to be one of the best books I have read so far.... Trust me....I have not steered you wrong yet.

The author did a great job with a touchy subject. Abuse and pregnancy are not easy to tackle. Korinne had to go through a lot in life, and it was great to see a happy ending for her. My heart went out to Korinne. Keep tissues handy!
