This book arrived today and was worth the wait. Although written about 1868, it was so relevant in light of all that is happening recently in our country. Emily, the protagonist, illustrated the conflicted emotions that we feel when trying to please others and yet be faithful to a higher calling. Loved how this short story turned out, suspense with romance! Elizabeth Musser is my favorite author yet again!
