About the Author

Steve Kaye has been taking photos since his parents gave him a Brownie Hawkeye camera in (about) 1954. Then in 1965 he became interested in taking photos of nature while on a trip to the Rocky Mountains.

He has conducted photo classes, led photo walks, judged photos, spoken at photo clubs, and created five other books that show his photos.

Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge is one of his favorite photo destinations. All totaled, he has spent about a month and a half visiting this refuge, taking photos of the incredible birds that use it as a critical migration site.
