Since starting her writing career in earnest, Linda has written thirty-seven books and counting, which have gained great popularity. Readers are drawn to her vivid writing of mail-order bride and historical romance stories, many of which deal with social issues, and always include humor and heart. Her Westward series, which includes twenty-three books, is set in Dawson, Montana. When the series ended, her readers wanted more of the characters they’d come to know and love—so much so that it prompted her to create the Dawson Chronicles, which picks up the stories of many of the descendants of the original characters, but can also be read as a stand-alone series. Linda’s Echo Canyon series, tells the story of a small Montana town on the verge of extinction after the collapse of the mining industry in the region. It shows the ingenuity of the Echo’s inhabitants in how they come together to save the town they love. All is not always as it seems in Echo with mystery, suspense, and romance abound! When asked how she would classify her writing, she said, “My stories don’t include excessive swearing or explicit sexual situations. While I do express passion in my books, I don’t feel the need to provide a play-by-play of the physical side of relationships. Therefore, I only go so far and leave the rest up to the readers’ imaginations, focusing instead on the emotional aspect of my romances. I’ve had a lot of readers tell me that they feel my books are safe for their teenaged children or grandchildren to read, which makes me feel good.” Linda encourages readers to sign up for email alerts about her new releases at www.lindabridey.com and appreciates it when readers leave honest reviews on her books.

This was a quick and simple love story that I didn't want to put down. The dialog was a bit stilted at times but there was good character deveopment for such a short story. The author packed a lot of content into a short story-a good weekend read.

The only thing I did not love about this book is the lovemaking! I got this book for my young girl who is 14 and I read it before she did and I found it a tad innapropriat. But, other than that I had no problems. It is a very good read. Four stars from this mom!

While I enjoyed the characters and the writing style, the plot lost steam. The story became very repetetive towards the end of the book. This feels more like a draft than a finished version. In addition, the concept is likeable, but the characters are too cutesy, it would work better if the author gave them more substance. Ironically the part where the protagonists were most authentic was when the author beat the plot point beyond a "dead horse."

This book is so dull, really your going to be pissed because he was not the one writing to you and after he explained why you still stay mad. It was petty and dumb. The only good thing I can say about this book was no porno sex scenes.

I hate when authors try to bluff their way though books. Every other book I have read about mail order brides, the potential husband paid all the fess and traveling expenses....Also $200. back in the late 1800's would be between $5000 and $6000, today. The story was not bad, but please do your homework, prior to writing about a period.

This book was okay. The author didnt do enough research for the historical period and mixed 21st century venacular with late 18th century speech. And no, they didn't speak in reference to sex or off-color jokes in mixed company. At least there were no plodding sex scenes. Too much with our society's obsession with feelings in the storyline. However, I think with a lot more writing practice, the author could hone her craft.

This was a fun read, no deep thinking, just a fun story to keep from thinking about our disastrous government.

I liked the story and the characters very much. I would have liked it to be longer, a little more developed. Really, it was just over too soon!
