This is a relatively slim book—only 47 pages—but it's packed with a lot of valuable information for the new quilter. Not everyone has a friend or mother who can show them how to make a quilt, and not everyone is close to workshops or classes. What makes this book very useful is that there are headings and diagrams throughout, making it easy to find what you are looking for. Plus it doesn't overwhelm you with information. While all the basics are covered, the reader won't get bogged down with too much detail. After all, the aim of the game is to get in there and make something! The central project, Crossroads, is a very pleasing design that will appeal to all abilities. This is a handy reference for new quilters or anyone looking to brush up on their skills.
