Breyer did many great things when he was writing this book. For people that don't know much about the U.S. court system, he makes it easy to understand and easy to comprehend. However, he was too concerned with public acceptance than he was with following the constitution. He ends almost every chapter by referring to the importance of the public's approval. He also talks a lot about the past court cases. I thought by reading this book that he would explain ways to patch up America's system but instead he referred back to previous cases. The book was very informational but also biased, which is probably what Breyer intended to do while writing. I probably would not read this book again but I'm glad I gave it a try.

I really liked this book. I felt like it contained a lot of information about things I really wanted to learn about but don't have time to study individually. Of course, part of what makes this book enjoyable for me is that I generally find myself agreeing with many of his views already. So that does make me biased in some ways. I definitely recommend it for anyone just learning what the Supreme Court is about, and historical cases that made it what it is today.
