This book is pretty good and I honestly read it only because I've been waiting for Silva's new book coming out in July. I prefer the Gabriel Allon series to Michael Osbourne, primarily because of the excellent character development of Allon and the rest of the cast whom I have come to love. But this is good if you have read all the other books a ton of times and need your Silva fix.

This book was wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed the read. I had read all the G. Allon series and was glad to see the other stories Silva does are just as well written. Hopefully, B&N will get the Nook versions of Unlikely Spy and Mark of the Assassin so that I can read all of Silva's work and not have to purchase from Amazon.

Unlike the prequel to this book (THE MARK OF THE ASSASSIN), THE MARCHING SEASON, starts off at a great pace and continues at that pace until the surprising ending. I was up till the wee hours reading this one. Silva continues to have his infatuation with smoking, however, making all of the characters heavy smokers and he continues to try impress with his knowledge of European geography. If he would drop those two elements, his books would be INCREDIBLE.

Great new series. Hopefully these characters return in the near future. Both very entertaining.

Anything written by Daniel Silva is exciting and beyond a great value in a reading experience. His characters are human and make you want to be friends with them. His stories are fast-paced and exciting. And even tho Gabriel Allon is a spy, Daniel Silva writes in such a way that anyone can easily follow along and understand what's going on and why. Gabriel is one of the most famous characters ever written about and we never want his story to end. The stories are so well written that you have finished the book before you know it. And to say that Daniel Silva is one of the greatest writers of our time, is probably a very big understatement. His writing is fluid and flawless and easy to read. You never have to read a sentence twice. If you haven't already read a Daniel Silva story, you are truly missing out on a great reading experience.
