About the Author

Mary Peace Finley was raised in the southeastern Colorado town of Fowler. She is a graduate of the University of Denver, a former teacher of English-as-a-Foreign Language, a television scriptwriter, and author of four historical novels set in southeastern Colorado and along the Santa Fe Trail.

The three novels in her Santa Fe Trail Trilogy are award winners: Meadow Lark (Colorado Book Award), White Grizzly (Benjamin Franklin Award), Soaring Eagle (Top Hand Award from Colorado Author's League).

Mary is active in the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, the Colorado Authors League, Women Writing the West, and Western Writers of America.
