Once again I lose sleep reading Mr. Illes book. A little slow starting, but a tense great read.

The final book closed the story lines in Greg Iles fashion. Can't wait for the next Penn Cage story line.

This is a long book. There are two stories in the book with the first ending after about 300 pages and the second story continuing on for another 400 pages. Well done. Great story. Hard to put down. Read it.

I was harsh in my evaluation of the first two books in this series. They were ponderous, indulgent and dull - not what Greg Iles usually delivers. Not this third installment. Mississippi Blood was as good as the first two were bad. This story had an arc and momentum behind it. You actually felt like you were part of Penn's narrative where for two previous books there was good reason to wonder just why you were reading along. I said I wasn't going to buy this book, that's how disappointed I was with the first two. I was afraid there'd be more of the JFK nonsense along with another story that stalls like a backwater bayou. I bought it anyway because the alternatives in the store that day were worse. I lucked out. My recommendation? If the first two scared you off, buy this one anyway. You won't regret it. If you haven't read one and two. Don't. Just read this one. What you get will far outweigh what you miss.

Third book in trilogy was the best, but the first was best until the second.

Another outstanding book from the very talented Greg Iles. Sorry to know that this is the end of the series. However, loved the way it ended. Look forward to many more books from him!!!. Highly recommend to all!!!

This trilogy is the best thing I've read in years. It moves at breakneck speed, especially the final book. Any southerner will be fighting back tears at the historical and emotional accuracy of this wonderful piece of writing.

Being retired, I read quite a bit. This novel is one of the best I have read. I felt as if I was in the story and one of Penn Cage's right-hand men, traveling with him every step of the way. Outstanding courtroom scenes, deep character development and stunning twists in the plot. This 3rd book in Greg Iles trilogy is not to be missed.

Every book in the "Penn Cage" series is excellent! Hope there are more.

Overall the trio logo was good, however I felt this last book was a little too drawn out especially around the courtroom scenes.
