Growing up over the years, Alexis witnessed her father¿s numerous affairs. To most she had it all, both her parents in the home and she got anything she wanted, but she couldn¿t keep her father from creeping and her parents from fighting constantly. Grown up and in college, Alexis meets Jarrad, a smooth, sexy TV executive. They spark a relationship only to find out that Jarrad is married with kids. Unable to break away from the hold he has on her, she has to make a strong decision...stay playing second best or move on. In my opinion, MISTRESS moved around a lot in time and that was confusing. Sometimes I couldn¿t figure out how old she was. The majority of the book was spent on Alexis¿ childhood. The book was supposed to be about her and Jarrad but focused more on her parents. I wish the author had discussed it and moved on concentrating more on Alexis as an adult and her relationship as a mistress. I thought some parts weren¿t even important to the story. I feel like all in all it was just ok and had enough drama to keep my attention.
