The monkeys want to play baseball, but they realize that they can't because they don't have any coconuts. To get a coconut they have to cross the river. To cross the river they have to ask the crocodiles - something that they have done many times before. However, the crocodiles have had enough. They want to play baseball too! So they tell the monkeys no! They tell the monkeys that they have to let them play or they wont help them cross. It all turns out to be a misunderstanding. The monkeys had no idea that the crocodiles wants to play with them! They had never asked and just thought that the crocodiles weren't interested in their game. This fun story is all about communication. How it is important to let others know how you feel because if you don't you wont know that they have hurt feelings or that they want to play in the game too. It really teaches a great lesson in a fun way. This review is based on an eARC provided by the publisher via Netgalley for a review. This was a very simple story about friendship and considering each other's feelings. The monkeys play baseball all the time and use coconuts. The crocodiles take the monkeys across the river to get the coconuts but the monkeys never ask the crocodiles to play with them. Finally the crocodiles say no when the monkeys ask for a ride across the river. When they realize that the crocodiles want to play and their feelings are hurt because they have never been asked, the monkeys gladly include the crocodiles in their game. Cute illustrations. This is a very simple picture book geared to young children. I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
A great and well executed story that makes you want more. I really liked this book. Initially, I admit I wasn't sure whether I was going to like it or not but I started loving Crocodile character sooner than I'd anticipated. His strength of character was truly admirable and it just made me love reading this book. I was captivated by the plot, the writing style, the construction... It's was all very impressive.
