Best book I have read in a while (and I read a lot of them)... Beautifully written!! Great story!! Definitely needed a tissue or two and I almost put it down when the ending seemed in question... Talk about love conquering all!! This is it!!! Doesn't matter if you like baseball or not... This book is a MUST READ!!! Ms. Torre really gave us a winner when she wrote MOONSHOT...

Aaaand commence book hangover. Seriously. This is Alessandra Torre's writing at her best. Yes, it's sexy. That woman can write sexy like no other. BUT. I won't remember Moonshot by its sex appeal. The plot was AMAZING. It was sexy, it was forbidden, it was suspenseful, it was tragic. The entire time I was reading I couldn't stop turning the pages and the entire time I wasn't reading I was thinking about what was going to happen!!! This book is the reason I like to read. Moonshot is the story of Ty and Chase. What I loved about this book: ~ The writing. Alessandra Torre is so talented. She weaves a web of first time love that is so addictive. I was sucked in so completely so quickly. I HATED that I had to stop reading to sleep and take care of my family - real life is such an interruption to my reading! ~ The characters. Ty, her father, the team, Chase. The characters weren't perfect. Ty is a 17 year old girl and she thinks & feels like a 17 year old girl. I wanted to shake her silly a couple of times for the choices she makes...but I made several bad decisions at her age, too. I love that Alessandra Torre was realistic in her depiction of this age. Ty is in love with Chase before he even joins the team because of his talent on the baseball field. But, Ty is traded to the Yankees because he slept with the wife of one of his teammates - so his moral code is questionable. Her father warns her again and again that Chase is no good for her. And she puts up a good fight. No make up, baggy clothes, avoid eye contact whenever possible. But. She couldn't fight the pull. And Chase. I wanted to hate him. I mean. Who sleeps with his teammate's wife? And does drugs? Only a scumbag, for certain. But as I learned more about Chase and found out about the demons he carries, I was able to see under all of that ugly stuff to the guy inside. And I fell for him too. Chase tries to fight the attraction to Ty. He really tries. But. On the few interactions they have, she surprises him. She calls him on his BS. She helps him find peace in a chaotic world. And once he falls for her, he really falls for her. They don't have it easy. They don't get a HEA for a long while. ~The suspense. I loved trying to figure out what the heck was happening. This is what I love most about Alessandra Torre - she is the queen of plot twists. ~ Alternating POV. We get in Ty's mind the most - her POV is told in first person. But we also get Chase - his POV is told in third person. This is an interesting way to do it. I would prefer first person for both POV's but I'm glad we got into Chase's mind. And we also get these bits of news articles that freaked me out and put me on the edge of my seat. Great combination. What I didn't love about this book: there were some parts of this book that drove me crazy. But I really can't say that it detracted from the story. Pet peeves of mine that I avoid in other books worked for Moonshot. And it made the ending that much sweeter. I'm trying not to give any spoilers! Bottom line: Moonshot is amazing. Highly recommend!!

"First loves were supposed to be flimsy and temperamental. They were supposed to burn bright and fade fast. They weren't supposed to stick. They weren't supposed to eat away a man's heart, his capacity for life" Whyyyyyyyy? Why didn't I read this book sooner???? I have had it on my waiting list for almost a year! I just loved it. I loved the story. I loved the characters. All of them. And I LOVED all the twists and surprises. So, five stars. But if I could, I would rate it with twenty more!

I was riveted to this story from beginning to end because of the excellent writing style of this author and the very suspenseful—very sensual—very unusual--plot line. I don’t want to give anything away in this review, so I will just say that Chase Stern’s and Tyler Rollins’ love story is unbeatable for all of the reasons stated before. I can hardly wait to read another by this author. I was gifted with a copy of this book by the author.

This was the first book I've read by this author and I thought she hit it out of the park! I absolutely loved Ty and Chase. I was giddy with excitement as they got to know each other and my heart broke with Ty as she walked in on something she shouldn't have and then in turn made bad decisions. I loved these characters and how the love they shared, although brief, it was the real thing and something that would last forever. This is a story about young love and making poor decisions, or trying to do what you feel is the right thing. Living life with your head and not your heart. A lot of times, that just puts you through the motions. When Ty and Chase enter each other's lives 4 years later, all bets are off. They have both grown up a lot and know what is important to them. I loved this story. It was heartbreaking and emotional, but I wouldn't change a thing.

“Moonshot. They say the term comes from Wally Moon, a player from the fifties, who hit bombers that the local press dubbed ‘moonshots.’ Dad had taught me the term when I was twelve, and desperate to hit my first home run.” I loved the prologue where we are introduced to Tyler Rollins, daughter to baseball’s great relief pitcher Frank Rollins. She is seven years old and stepping up onto the bus carrying the NY Yankees baseball team. Her dad urging her on as she stood wide eyed. Fast forward 10 years. Tyler, or ‘Ty’ travels with the Yankees as a ball girl and all around gofer. At 17, baseball is her life, the team, her family. She is beautiful and will soon be 18. Adored by Yankees owner Frank Grant, with the hope of her one day marrying his son Tobey. Everything changes when the Yankees acquire Chase Stern, baseballs hottest player…. “Chase Stern. The best bat to hit our game since Barry Bonds. A shortstop who made Ripken look like a rookie. A body built for baseball, a face that made GQ editors swoon, and enough swagger to fill Dodger stands with females.” “His swing, his throw, the dip of his body when he scooped up a ball, the stretch of his six foot body when he leapt into the air…it was my porn…… He was beautiful. He was perfection.” This story has it all. Forbidden love, hot athlete, twists, turns and a few unexpected situations….. We see their beginning. Chase and Ty getting to know each other. Becoming friends. The sharing of secrets and hurts. Ty no longer sees Chase as the reckless playboy that the tabloids painted but a kind and caring guy. She falls for Chase and Chase falls hard for Ty but then comes the misunderstandings and bad decisions. The outcome is devastating for both of them. Woven into all of this is a serial killer, murdering young blond women, betrayal, temptation, and danger. The story starts out slow and a bit confusing. But, I pushed through and was not disappointed! As each chapter passed I became more and more hooked. I love Chase Stern!!!! And Ty….she’s intelligent, beautiful and full of Yankees love! She has an amazing relationship with her dad and it really shows throughout the book. Alessandra Torre is such a versatile writer. I fell in love with her writing after reading ‘Sex, Love, Repeat’ and then went on to ‘Black Lies’ and then ‘Tight’. This story reads similar to those books. I enjoyed it very much! 5 forbidden, sexy, murderous stars !

I really enjoyed Ty and Chase'story. So much so to even overlook something that I normally don't like in my books. But in the end two wrongs do make a right!

A Torre Home Run! This book had it all for me. I happen to love baseball and she captured the feels beautifully. But that was just the icing on a perfect cake of sexy romance mystery with swoon-worthy hero and a tough-as-nails heroine. Ty and Chase are great together, even breaking all of society's rules. Truly a great summer read.
