Murder by the Book was a great book with many lessons we can all learn. One would be that you don't need to be what people think you should be. In the book Kennedy Killingsworth is the main character and her mom mostly and others in her town kept telling her what she should be doing and who she should be marrying. She just wanted them to leave her alone and let her figure out what she wanted do. Also another lesson is that we should judge people for their past. Like Luke Scoggins when he was younger he got into lots of trouble and wasn't very nice to most people. And people would judge him based off of his family which was poor and not the brightest people. But when now he just got back from the Marines and was planning on going to college. He also is very nice and was super helpful. Also Cade Burrell who was Kennedy's ex-husband who she thought for a long time was super annoying and not worth her time realized they may not work married but they can be good friends. The whole book was about the death of Foster Scoggins. He was Luke's uncle and he worked at his family owned salvage yard. He died mysteriously and they thought it was a suicide but that's where Kennedy comes in she wants to prove that is was a murder. The Author is great at keeping you on your toes trying to figure out who killed Foster. The beginning of the book is a little slow but it gets really intense and has a unexpected twist at the end. And of course their is a love story in it. Everyone wants Kennedy to get back together with her cheating ex-husband including him. But Kennedy has absolutely no interest so she meets Drake Langston who is smart rich and adding tons of new developments to their town. So she goes on a few dates with him because he is building her a new library. Than there is Sloan who is a construction worker working on her new library. Lastly theres Luke who is my favorite he starts out as just helping in the investigation then they start dating. The Author is great at keeping you on your toes trying to figure out who killed Foster. The beginning of the book is a little slow but it gets really intense. After all the love interest the many theories and many suspects and dangers of not being in the police force and helping solve a murder they finally do. And it a huge twist! It's such a great book and I would highly suggest you read it.
