Overview

The sleepy little county in southeast Indiana is suddenly awakened by a series of murders, leaving local law enforcement unsure where to turn. Seeming like professional hits, the victims are nonetheless normal every day people, with no ties to each other or anything criminal. Of the scant clues left at the scenes, there is one that kept showing up, a business card identifying their perp only as the 'GHOST'. Gabriel Celtic and the other members of the Major Crimes Taskforce have been tasked with finding the ominous man, but soon discover that they will be thwarted at every turn. The revelation of another's involvement also involved in the murders, the mastermind of the killings, sends the investigation yet again into turmoil as this person easily eludes their efforts to identify and locate...her, a woman! As the murders continue, it also becomes apparent that Jasmine, the beautiful blonde mastermind, has it out for the County Sheriff's Department, implicating its involvement with each new body found. Having never been involved in such a bizarre series of crimes, Gabriel soon learns that solving the investigation would cost one of his own the ultimate sacrifice.

Reviewed by Molly E. for Readers Favorite I love murder mysteries. Totally love them. So, when I look for a good murder mystery, it has got to have all the elements: complex characters, roller coaster twists and heart stopping turns and who-dun-its that will surprise the heck out of you. Sitting down to read J.T. Lewis' "Murder Too Close to Home" really brought all that and then more. From start to finish, I was engrossed in a murder mystery that came to life, making the story more like a movie. In a small town in Indiana, the worst possible thing that any resident would have to go through is happening. Murder. People are unexpectedly turning up dead. As Gabriel Celtic and his task force team members follow all the clues, they come across the most unexpected puzzle piece...the murderer, the one calling the shots, is most definitely NOT who they expected! As Gabriel and the task force race to find out how to stop the killings and the whys behind, he realizes that so much more is at stake than simply finding a killer. It is quickly becoming personal and only one thing will stop the killer. Can Gabriel take the leap? Will he give the biggest sacrifice he has ever had to give, or will the killer win again? If you love fast-paced, amazingly written murder mysteries, then look no further than this 5 star worthy crime suspense. You will be swept away into a whirlwind of action and crime, following Celtic and the team as they hunt down the killer of innocent people in a small Indiana town.

JT Lewis has written a fascinating story that is a real page turner with charatcters that are gut-wrenchingly real and heartfelt. Well-written, and with an intense, adrenilin packed story that keep the reader on the edge of the seat, this novel delivers. The interactions between some of the main characters was what really drew me in to this work. The dialogue is sharp and you can feel the tension radiainting off the pages. With descriptive details in each and every scene, you quickly get caught up in the action, and never want to put the book down. I was up until the wee hours of the morning reading because I was so involved in the story. Pick up this fast paced murder mystery and get lost in the world of JT Lewis. You won't be disappointed. Another great book by J.T. Lewis! Although in a different genre than most of his others in this series, it was still action-packed and left me breathless into the night.

Despite plot spoilers giving away the story line this is an excellent mystery. It takes you on a whirl wind adventure where a vendetta goes out of control. By the end you will need tissues as the ending will definately tear you up! Highly recommend.

Move over Lucas Davenport, Gabriel Celtic is joining you! If you love John Sandford's Prey Series, you'll enjoy Murder! Too Close To Home. A gritty depiction of a murderous heart, and action packed from the very first chapter, JT Lewis captures the heart and soul of a county police force on the trail of a psychotic killer, leading up to an astonishing conclusion. Don't miss this compelling thriller!

Not a bad story. I figured it out early in the book. However, it was a horrible, horrible ending.

I thoroughly enjoyed the murder mystery. Even though you kept us abreast of the bad guys doings, I was engrossed in the story. You gave us a hint in the middle of the story about "Jasmine" that I correctly figured out, but it didn't reduce my intrest in the story. I am going to be following Gabriel in "Revenge" next.

If you want to read a book full of lousy grammar and ninth grade writing this is the book for you. The author consistently uses the wrong pronouns, using"I" when it should be "me". The author also mixes up "she" and "her". I laughed out loud when the killer was walking on the "levy" by the river. If the river does flood I hope that there is a levee to hold back the water. Also, "site" and "sight" aren't interchangeable. The author needs a proofreader and an editor. I can't imagine how anyone could ever finish this book. Fifty pages and I was ready to scream. There's a reason it's free.

This author is amazing! I didn't want to put my Nook away!!! I'm so glad this is the first book, and not the last! I usually lean towards heroines...strong, independent, feisty. Gabriel Celtic captured my heart. He's grateful for what he has right there in front of him. I'm so looking forward to the next book in the series! Kudos to the author!!!

This is a great read, and the twists and turns, keep you on the edge of your seat. And I never saw the who done it coming, what a surprise! The author did a great job with this, and I'm looking forward to reading more by this author. The only reason I did not rate this 5 stars, is the editing could have been better, this author's work deserved good editing.
