Overview

My Climb To The Top (of the Bell Atlantic Tower) by John Smiley

In 2011, I completed my first organized Stair Climb, the 2011 America Lung Association Philadelphia Fight for Air Climb, a 50 story, 1088 step climb to the top of Philadelphia Bell Atlantic Tower.

I made my way up to the top in 10 minutes and 37 seconds, good for 9th out of 35 in my age group of 55-59.

It was a journey of personal discovery---testing limits and pushing myself.

You may find my day by day training guide interesting, along with 500 pages of fun tidbits about the sport of Stair Climbing and some of the great people who participate in it today.
