"A beautifully written romance story about believing in yourself and taking control of your own destiny. You won't want to put this one down until you have read the whole story -- you will become immersed in the story and find yourself encouraging the main character to believe in herself and do what she knows is right for her. You can't go wrong with Vicki Hinze books – I highly recommend." –Jo Anne Vincent

This is a feel good book which one won't be able to put down until the last page is read." –J.L. McCrimmon

Loved, loved, loved, loved, LOVED!!! One of the best sweet romances I've ever read and hands down my favorite book by Vicki Hinze. This book is an absolute must for women's book clubs. It's the kind of book you just want to talk to someone about. It's also the type of book that will make you gasp a few times and think, "Oh, this is going to be good!" I can't say enough about this book. I highly recommend it!

My Imperfect Valentine is a about following your dream and how about the imperfection that makes the world work out. It is set in Biloxi, Mississippi which is a bastion of Southern society where mothers rule .Amanda Jensen follows her dream and opens a card shop with her mother’s disapproval. She has three different men who are trying to get her attention. To top it off, Amanda’s card shop is not doing well. To save the shop, Amanda creates Secret Admirer Party around the statue of Cupid outside her store for Valentine’s Day. To get to this point, Vicki Hinze creates a story that is funny and makes you want to see what happens next. Vicki Hinze is a favorite author of mine and she does not disappoint with this story. In complete disclosure, I received a copy with the understanding that I would give an honest review.

Filled with a bronze cupid, eccentric bag lady, pushy non-fiancé, reclusive artist, overbearing mother, and a man and woman who don’t trust falling in love, this story is an engaging read!  The dialogue between the two is truthful and frank – they don’t beat around the bush or play mind games. Amanda just wants to be independent and follow her dream. Max just wants to find a love that is real.  There are secrets and meddling people who make it almost impossible for Amanda and Max to get to know each other and overcome their hurtful pasts.  The secondary characters are filling and perfect – my favorite being Chatty.  A perfect Valentine’s day story that will melt your heart and give you a smile!

This is a great story. You meet Amanda Jensen, owner of The Card Shoppe and the daughter of a prominent family in their city. She has always wanted a business of her own and now has it, but her mother strongly disapproves. Amanda has a good friend, Chatty, who appears to be homeless, and often walks out with little “baubles” without paying for them. Amanda is dating Bradley Wade—her mother’s choice—but she has no feelings for him and doesn’t want to marry him. In fact, she really can’t stand him, but he’s her mother’s choice and she doesn’t want to hurt her mother’s feelings. Amanda is drawn to Jonathan, the artist who does pictures to accompany the text she writes in cards she sells, even though she has never met him. Then she meets Chatty’s nephew, Max Jones. She is almost instantly attracted to Max, but what about her feelings for Jonathan? Amanda is on the verge of losing her business, which would please her mother no end, but she hopes that her plan for a “Secret Admirer” event on Valentine’s Day right outside her store will save her hopes and dreams (her store). The evening is a great success for several couples who meet through Secret Admirer invitations and it’s a success for Amanda’s business. Jonathan invited Amanda to this event and Amanda invited Max to the event, but wait to see what happens when it seems both men have stood her up. There is a wonderful ending to this love story, which hopefully you’ll enjoy as much as I did. I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest review, which I have given. I would recommend this book to everyone.

My Imperfect Valentine was a light, quick read for me. It is what I would call a “sweet” romance. It’s nice to read a story where the characters are “imperfect”. Really loved the Chatty character! It was fun to try to figure out the story before I reached the end. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved it. No one's perfect. The main characters are flawed but loveable. I sat down and read this straight through. The dilemma Amanda finds herself in is real life. She questions her decisions, her choices, her judgment. She's totally relatable. The 'bag' lady is a delight. Max is yummy in so many ways. Amanda had a pretty cool promotions idea for her store. I would have liked to read about her other promo ideas (and attend her event). I could go on and on about all the things I like about this delightful story, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone. Pour a cup of hot chocolate, curl up in your favorite chair and settle in for a sweet, feel-good story. { I received this story in exchange for an honest review}
