Nevada Wildlife

Nevada is largely situated in the Great Basin, which is interspersed with many small mountain ranges running north to south. The Silver State also includes the low-lying Mojave Desert, with its abundant cacti. Within these two ecoregions is a diverse array of animals, including state mammal Desert Bighorn Sheep, state bird Mountain Bluebird, and state reptile Desert Tortoise.
