Kemdi Chino Opara was born in Ngeria, in West Africa. As a native of Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. Opara graduated from Government Secondary School in Owerri. To further his education, Opara came to the United States in 1979 and began to acquire scores of graduate and post-graduate degrees.
