What I really loved about No. 6 before it was released in english was the character and plot development. You're left in suspense every time you turn a page. When the official translation came out, I was thrilled to hold the manga in my hand and read it. I bought the book yesterday, and it turned out I am the luckiest person alive: There was only one left. I was elated to find that Kino Hinoki added more illustrations to the manga, which meant more fabulous pages to enjoy than the one you can read online. The only thing that seriously  upsetted was something that would upset any true No. 6 fan: The publisher changed Nezumi's name into Rat. That really made me mad. Otherwise, I'm happy to own the first  volume of my personal obsession: No. 6.

I am a huge fan of graphic novels, and this one is defiately one of my favorites. While the concept of a utopia with no crime rate and advanced technology is one that is used quite often in novels and films, the adaptation of the idea in No. 6 is very interesting. Asano does a very good job of making this utopia unique, and Kino's artwork is amazing at interpreting this. I was sucked in very quickly, being a syfy geek and all, but I believe that people not entirely a fan of science fiction would enjoy this work as well. As for the artwork, I was awestruck. Hinoki Kino is a fabulous artist, and she captivated me in every drawing. The subtleties she is able to include in each frame to give a preview of what is to come on the next page were fantastic. There is a certain elegance yet hard-edged masculinaty to each illustration, a style I believe both genders could enjoy. Overall, I give this manga a four out of five. I love the art, but I must wait to determine wether or not this is going to turn out to be an interesting story. My hopes are high.

I've watched the anime and have bought every book. By far, my favorite series of all time. I cannot get enough of it.
