About the Author

Gene Trantham is an experienced navigator who has taught NOLS courses and guided throughout the US and the world. He is a skilled sea kayaker and lives in Lander, Wyoming. Darran Wells is a senior NOLS instructor, an avid biker, climber, and backcountry skier. He has competed in adventure races across the world including Eco Challenge and Primal Quest. He lives in central Wyoming.
