Drew Drummond makes his living as a psychic tarot reader. He is not sure he actually believes but his grandmother left him the business and it keeps him from following the same law breaking path as his brothers. When his high school crush, Cliff Garcia, moves back to town as a member of the police force, Drew figures he has no chance of romance with him. In spite of all that, the two do find romance but then Drew hits his head and begins to have real visions of the future. He knows he can’t tell Cliff as Cliff considers that would be acting the con man. But Drew know he must do something to prevent any murders to happen. North on Drummond is an intriguing story. Our past often directs our future and Cliff hated everything paranormal and refused to believe in it. Drew on the other hand refused to allow his brother’s chronic criminal behavior shape him. Somehow these two managed to hook up and were trying to have a loving relationship. Both, though, had to adjust and make changes. Love does that and they met each other in between. Travel North on Drummond and see how these two work out their differences. You will be glad you did.

4-1/2 Stars Just when you think Cliff's blinders to the possibilities of the existence of the paranormal were ruling his life, in walks Drew Drummond and suddenly everything is turned upside down. Watching Cliff's inner belief system on the paranormal is heartbreaking at times but it is just one of those things he has to work out for himself. Luckily he has found an old friend as his new partner on the force and a very interesting psychic as his new lover. A great all around read that has mystery, romance, paranormal elements, and a huge cast of intriguing characters that captured my heart from beginning to end.

So this is the first KC Burn book that I’ve read but not heard. I’ve done several on audio, which I loved, and was excited to have this one come up on the roster, but being that I’ve never read before I’m not sure if this style of choppy writing is typical? Or in need of more edits? It certainly doesn’t come over that way when listening to audio books of the other stories.  With all that being said, I did enjoy the story as a whole, and found Drew, one of the main MC’s sweet and funny the way he could control his twin brothers but everyone else can’t. I also liked his relationship with his best friend Kyle problem is I liked that relationship better than his love interest Cliff. I also enjoyed most all the secondary characters and thought they played perfect roles. Cliff, however I found annoying from the start with his short temper, which he told us he needed to control, and his wishy washy mind (thoughts), pick a belief, and stick with it, I also thought for his age and life events, Cliff acted very immature. The repeat use of certain phrases was also frustrating at times. I very much liked the twist at the end, and in fact I guessed wrong. Not very often I get the, who done it, wrong well played!   I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review by Crystals Many Reviews
