Another great offering by Catherine Bybee! Even though we got to know Jack Morrison's sister Katelyn in Not Quite Dating, we get a much deeper look into her new life in Not Quite Mine. While she used to be a party girl that was splashed across every tabloid and newspaper around, Katie has decided it's time to get a real job and start growing up. Going to work for her brother is the first step in that journey, however part of beginning her new job, is the reality she is going to be in close proximity to the man she's always been in love with, and thought she was over, her brother's best friend Dean Prescott. But Dean is just the beginning of the obstacles that Katie is going to have to maneuver when a newborn baby girl is left on her doorstep with nothing more than a diaper bag, a birth certificate, and an anonymous note. Bybee takes the reader on quite the adventure as Katie's new sister by marriage, Monica, helps her hide the secret of her surprise motherhood as she tries to find out who the babies biological mother is and why she left her, all while doing her best to elude a snooping Dean. It's hard not to fall in love with these characters from the beginning and hope that they all get the happily ever after that both Katelyn and Dean have always dreamed of. This is a great read and one I would recommend to anyone!

Enjoyable follow up in the "Not Quite..." series. Interesting enough to put #3 in the series on my wish list.

Katie and Dean had been friends since high school.  Katie always had a crush on Dean but it wasn't until after high school that they began to date. Secretly of course. It wouldn't do for Katie's dad and brother to find out.  They were both privileged   kids, their parents wealth well established, and as such they wanted to keep this to themselves.  No media stories. No friends feeling guilty, if they broke up, about who to invite to their parties.  As suddenly as it began it ended.  Katie then got the reputation of being a wild child. Sleeping around, traveling and parties were on her nightly agenda.  Dean, meanwhile, nursed a broken heart for more than one reason.  Now they've got a second chance, will they take it?      This is a wonderfully crafted story about a wealthy spoiled girl and her sudden need to grow up.  Love the characters and their personalities really shine through.  You'll laugh and you'll sigh as you read this book.  An easy read, Catherine Bybee has done a terrific job of keeping the characters true to the first book in the series.  This is a keeper!!       I found no issues with this one.      I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because I couldn't put it down. ~Copy of book provided by author in exchange for a fair review~

Much like the first book Catherine has setup a perfect coupling with her characters. I absolutely love her style with her characters and the arcs that they go through. This story is just as good as the first in the series, it doesn't fall victim to the curse of the sequel at all. I LOVE Katie and Dead, and it's great how they were briefly introduced in the first book and now you get to see some of their story. Catherine so knows her characters, you can just feel them speaking into her ear and her writing down their story as they tell it to her. The story is one of love and the conquering the different aspects of falling for a man while Katie has desperately fallen in love with baby Savannah. Catherine doesn't write a how to keep a baby found on your doorstep, instead she focuses on the story and her characters. Catherine has done the magic again with this one and I hope she write a ton more books in this series! I cannot wait!

Rich, party girl Katie has been living the good life since her birth.  After her brother’s wedding Katie finds a baby, Savannah, on her door step with a cryptic note. The note states  that the baby’s mother knows Katie cannot have children and wants them and that the father is not ready to be a dad.  Yet the mother knows that Katie and the father will be a happy family one day.  Katie decides to keep the baby a secret and track down the mother. At the wedding Katie runs into Dean, her brother’s best friend and her ex.  Their past relationship was a secret and the break up was not easy.  When Dean finds out Katie’s secret, feelings are found to still be there and start to sizzle.  Dean decides to support her in the search to find out what the story is behind the baby. I did not like the giving up a baby and the keeping of secrets.  It was very hard for me to accept Katie not contacting the police and making sure all was ok.  As I kept reading I was able to accept how this story started and get more into the story.  I was actually unable to put this story down, even though I could see exactly where it was heading.  It was an exciting tale to follow to get to the ending. Falling in love with the character was easy for me.  Monica’s great support with Katie and Savannah made her the “sister” everyone wants.  Katie and Dean were hot, but there was so much more to each to each of them.  Their support and need to know the truth about Savannah, proved how moral and real their characters are.  Not Quite Mine is well written.  I can guarantee that it will purl you right in and you will be unable to put the novel down.  I read it in less than twenty four hours.  The next in this series Not Quite Enough will be out in the fall and I cannot wait to keep reading about these characters.

This is an erotic romance featuring a brother's best friend and his sister. I will admit I am an absolute sucker for these kinds of stories having grown up with several brothers and crushed on many of their friends. This one is no different. Katie Morrison is a rich girl and former reality TV drama queen. She and Dean, her brother's best friend, begin a passionate secret love affair that ends after a tragedy. They are together again in Jack's, Katie's brother, wedding. I fell in love with both characters from the beginning. They were both honest about wanting to be together and had off the charts chemistry. Dean was determined to win Katie back. I was frustrated with Katie's character because she was so challenged in her ability to communicate and made emotionally charged decisions based on abandonment issues from her past. This fit with her issues but I wish she would have opened up more often and sooner rather than later. Her fear of rejection was at the heart of the relationship problems. A beautiful baby girl left by her door complicates everything. Determined that this time would be different Dean's perseverance pays off and they journey together to their happily ever after. The plot had several twists on the predictable ""baby left at the door"" scenario. It kept my attention and the characters were very well- written and realistic. They weren't perfect people with perfect families but they had strong bonds and the emotions were raw and real. I can't wait for the next book in the series, but each book can easily be read as a standalone. Reviewed by Michelle for Cocktails and Books
