Engaging and thoughtful. Definitely worth reading. I thought the depiction of Earth 2 thousand years from now was fascinating.

While each chapter in this novel is a separate story, they all come together to form a narrative spanning generations. While the primary storyline and mystery of a stellar anomaly is interesting enough to carry the book on its own, even more intriguing for me was witnessing the transformation of this society from a band of eager explorers to an established culture with many of the same problems we deal with today, such as prejudice, bigotry, and fear. Watching those same characters struggle with and begin to overcome these obstacles was immensely satisfying. There is much more to this book than what lies on the surface. If you've enjoyed books like Asimov's Foundation or Neil Stephenson's Seveneves, you're going to enjoy Noumenon as well.
