As the result of a chance encounter with a Mexican construction contractor on a cross-country flight from New York to San Francisco, Nick Simmons finds himself on a journey of discovery in a remote, drought-stricken village in Baja, Mexico where he works to build a huge water reclamation project. The ancient world he enters is, to him, new; its language and customs are foreign to him. He finds himself entangled in this new land much deeper than he ever could have imagined. He is faced with deceitful investors, violent interference by the Drug Cartels, and harsh working conditions in Bajas coastal mountains. Along the way, he finds redemption for a past he cannot escape. In the end, Nick learns, What one man can do; another man can do.
