Our Friend, Temujin: The Wrongful Conviction of Temujin Kensu
On November 5, 1986, 20-year-old Scott Macklem was shot in the parking lot of St. Clair Community College in Port Huron, Michigan, where he was a student.

Despite having over a dozen witnesses stating he was almost 500 miles away and no evidence connecting him to the crime, Fred Freeman (now Temujin Kensu) was arrested and sentenced to life in prison, without the possibility of parole.

"Our Friend, Temujin: The Wrongful Conviction of Temujin Kensu" is the first and only book written about the unjust conviction of Temujin Kensu and his 38 years (and counting) behind bars.

Written by Joy Marie Mann, it includes Temujin's story in his own words, the author's personal experiences with him, documentation from the case, and personal submissions by advocates inspired by him, including some of your favorite true crime podcasters.
