About the Author

Since exiting a finance career in a world of cubicles, Bruce Fottler has been busy writing novels. His latest is the post-apocalyptic thriller: "Paladin's Odyssey." Bruce grew up in the Chicago suburbs and moved to the Boston area as a young teen. While seeking a career-track that mostly put him behind a desk, he dabbled in creative pursuits such as producing, writing, and directing film shorts. However, it was always writing novels that interested him the most because they aren't limited by production budgets, technical capabilities, or tight shooting schedules. Bruce has three other published novels: "Chasing Redemption" (Sci-fi thirller), "Dover Park" (Mystery), and "The Juncture" (Time-travel drama).

The author has done a wonderful job creating a suspenseful tale of a post-pandemic-apocalyptic world. His characters are well drawn and authentic and define the desperate world in which they live. I highly recommend this book.

Fottler departs nicely from the usual survival fiction formula by presenting a hero who isn't already trained in prepping and survival, but who organizes the nitty-gritty details of continued existence, taking small steps in the shadows. This is an intriguing new slant on apocalyptic fiction, and fans who are tempted to snub it because it breaks away from genre expectations should set aside their concerns; they're likely to enjoy it far more than they expect.
