I have read many, many of the Spencer books. I rank this as one of the best. Spencer is hired by Loudon Tripp to find out who killed his wife, Olivia Nelson. She was hit several times in the head with a hammer. The police have not been able to find the killer. Spencer starts asking questions. He goes to South Carolina where Olivia is from. But is her name Olivia?? Why does a certain Senator want to stop Spencer's investigaton? Spencer in jail?????? The ending is very good, really two endings, the killer is found and the Senator is exposed for what he is. To me, the only way the book could have been better was less Susan and more Hawk. If you like Spencer I feel you will like this one.

Somewhat predictable, but with a surprise twist. Thoroughly enjoyable with Spencer's wit.
