Peter Finds Purpose
The end of life for Peter was mere days away when he wrote 1st and 2nd Peter, and he does not rehearse his accomplishments, but rather challenges all believers how they should live before God.
Peter shows us that character development and specifically which qualities, is more important to work on than any accomplishments we may envision to serve.
Peter makes it clear to all believers that life is not about what we do for God but who we are in Christ that matters. He provides a progressive list of character qualities that if we develop we then can be assured of partaking in the Divine Nature of God while on earth. These qualities are faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love.
