Pico della Mirandola was an Italian writer, thinker, and philosopher. Born Giovanni Francesco Pico della Mirandola in 1463 near Ferrara, Pico was a central figure of the Umanesimo (Humanism, European intellectual movement rejecting knowledge received by God or books).
