Play Me #2: Play Me Hot by Tracy Wolff

Return to a world of secrets and desires. In the sultry second installment of an eBook original serial from the New York Times bestselling author of Ruined and Addicted, Aria and Sebastian turn up the heat. But will they get burned?

My name is Aria Winston. I’ve fought desperately to escape the seedy underbelly of Las Vegas. Now I’m on my own, in control of my own life and my own destiny . . . just the way I like it. Until Sebastian Caine changes everything.

If getting tangled up with her new boss is wrong, Aria doesn’t want to be right. Powerful men usually have a way of thinking they can take whatever they want while giving nothing back, but Sebastian is different. He’s gentle with her body. Rough in all the right places. And hot enough to make Aria break every last rule she’s set for herself. But with her history, it’ll take more than mind-blowing sex to heal the pain deep inside . . . no matter how good Sebastian’s intentions are. She’s spent her entire life fighting for control of her own life, and no one’s going to take that from her. But the more time she spends in Sebastian’s world, the deeper she’s drawn into his sensual games.

Play Me is intended for mature audiences. Aria and Sebastian’s story continues in Play Me: Hard.

About the Author

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Tracy Wolff wrote her first short story—something with a rainbow and a prince—in second grade, around the same time she forayed into the wonderful world of girls lit with her first Judy Blume novel. By ten she’d read everything in the young adult and classics sections of her local bookstore, so in desperation her mom started her on romance novels. And from the first page of the first book, Tracy knew she’d found her life-long love. A one-time English professor with over fifty novels to her name, she now devotes most of her time to writing romance and dreaming up heroes. She lives in Austin, Texas, with her family.

“Why don’t you have a seat,” he tells me, gesturing to the two chairs in front of his desk.

It’s the reminder I need to shock my brain back into focus. Finally. Sticking my chin in the air, I make sure I sound firm—or as firm as any woman can after she’s just been caught, held and caressed by her boss’s boss’s boss’s boss. “I don’t think that will be necessary. I’m just here to pick up my paycheck.”

He lifts his brows then, a quick up and down motion that makes my belly flutter. “Sit down, Aria.” He sounds accommodating but at the same time, I know an order when I hear one. I want to object on general principle—the woman I am now doesn’t follow orders well at all, but I need that money. And a not terrible evaluation. Which is why I bend my knees and sink slowly, painfully into the chair.

He closes the door and I expect him to circle his desk, to sit in the huge, imposing chair that faces the one I’m currently sitting in. But instead, he drops down onto the chair next to me before reaching into his pocket and handing me an envelope.
“I believe this is what you came for.”

I nod without bothering to open it. Instead, I slide it into my purse and move to stand. His hand flashes out, rests gently on my arm as he applies just enough pressure to keep me in my seat.

Heat rushes through me from the contact, my nipples peaking despite my determination to keep this professional. He smiles then, a dark curving of his lips that sends shivers of electricity through me. That makes my body tremble and my breathing erratic.

I shrink back against the chair—a move that’s totally not me—and try to figure out what the hell is going on. He’s not threatening me, there’s nothing predatory or particularly sexual in the way he’s looking at me, the way he’s touching me. And yet my body is lit up like the Strip at midnight, my every cell sparking at nothing more than a casual touch from him.

I don’t get it. I don’t understand why I’m responding like this to Sebastian Caine when I’ve never responded anywhere near this quickly or strongly to another man. Oh, I’ve dated some. I was even engaged, and spent six months of that engagement trying to convince myself that I loved Carlo. And still I never responded like this, so quickly and desperately. Breasts aching, skin burning, sex growing wet.

The oddity of it is enough to keep me in my seat for long seconds, my eyes pinned to his as he stares back. But then fear sets in and I go to stand up again.

Again, he presses me gently but firmly back into the chair. He’s still smiling at me, his face schooled into perfectly pleasant lines. But his eyes are filled with a predatory interest he doesn’t even try to hide.

It worries me. Not because I think he’ll hurt me, not because I don’t think I can handle myself. But because I like it. I like the way he’s looking at me, like the way my body feels under his gaze.

Which is ridiculous—and why I come out swinging. “Look, I don’t know what you think is happening here, Mr. Caine—”

“Sebastian,” he says, interrupting my diatribe. “My name is Sebastian.”

“Good for you. I’m sure somebody probably cares about that, but I only came here for my paycheck and I have it now, so I’m leaving.”

“I wish you wouldn’t.”

“Excuse me?”

“I’d like you to stay for a few minutes and talk to me. See if we can get to the bottom of this mess.”

For a minute I think the mess he’s referring to is us, and the way we’re responding to each other. But then I realize he means the Russian whale, me being fired. And suddenly I’m afraid I’m in for a lot more than I bargained for. I was prepared to fight Richard Caine for my paycheck, was prepared for derision and annoyed condescension. I live every day of my life with it, after all, and have learned to control myself and those situations to the best of my ability.

But this. This is something different. There’s no arrogance on Sebastian’s face, no assumption that I’ll drop to my knees and blow him as a thank-you for my paycheck. No sense that he thinks he can screw me simply because he’s got a corner office on the top floor of Las Vegas’s hottest casino.
That’s not the scary part. I can handle that. Hell, I do handle it pretty much every day of my life. But the rest . . . the rest gets to me. The quiet respect, the obvious interest, the darkness that mirrors my own. I don’t know how to deal with those things, don’t know how I’m supposed to respond. I’m off-kilter, confused, searching for answers when I feel like I don’t even know what questions to ask.

Maybe that’s why I stay instead of running out of here as fast as my feet can carry me.

Because I want to find out—both the questions and the answers.

## BAD. Really bad. All these two did was have sex in his office while she negleted her job. I like a little rough sex as much as the next girl but this sex was just bizarre. Skip this series! I wish I had.

Aria Winston is hiding out from her past working as a waitress in one of the best casino in Las Vegas. Aria gets put into a situation she cant walk away from and ends up fired. When Sebastian finds out exactly what happened in the casino on his watch he is livid. Not only does Aria get her job back but she gets the hot and sexy Sebastian wanting her in his bed. Although Sebastian and Aria know this is a line they should not cross, the temptation is undeniable. Sebastian and Aria do not lack in the passion department. Sebastian has Aria all tied up and confused. Aria has a hard time accepting the new and intense ways that Sebastian wants and needs to have her body mind and soul. Sebastian and Aria first time together is a night that neither one of them will ever forget. Although Aria thinks she is stepping into a one night stand Sebastian lets her know that he is playing for keeps. I have read all 5 books in this series so I don't want to spoil it for anyone. This book was great. I literally read it in an hr. So of course what does a bookaholic like me do at 11pm when I have to work at 7am? I go right on to the next book in the series. Now don't get scared the book was not really short. I can finish a whole book in about 5 or 6 hrs so if you put all the books together it seemed to me that the length equaled about the same as any other book. This is a great book, it is so hot and sexy it's explosive!

4.5 Stars This is a novella series that is 5 parts. I would recommend reading the below before this one: Play Me #1: Play Me Wild Aria and Sebastian are playing a dangerous game. But they can’t resist each other. Both are drawn to each other. She fights for control in her life in each thing except when she can’t stay in control with Sebastian. Sebastian is trying to help her control things but wonders if he is really helping in the end. I recommend this book.

4 "'Hot' Sounds about right" Stars Book 2 in the serial read picks up right from the conclusion of book 1. This book is about Sebastian and Aria's first encounter with each other. I swore in book one Aria was adamant about not sleeping with Sebastian but that didn't last too long.  This book was really steamy but it really seemed to lack substance for me. The first 65% of the book is all foreplay...seriously. Then there is all this "subspace", "subdrop" terminology that I just am not very familiar with and not all the books I read are vanilla, so this through me. We get little hints about Aria's history with another and the same for Sebastian and some mistake he made before, but that is it. This entire book probably represents around a 2-3 hour time frame so really, how much can you learn about them in that timespan. Regardless, I have take the bait and I will continue to read. On to book three. Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The first installment is gives the story background and introduces us to Aria: hiding from her father, rebelling against her family, working as a cocktail waitress in a Las Vegas casino.  She’s running from / hiding something, and isn’t particularly amenable to men, most particularly men with money.  Sebastian has returned after long absence to the casino his father owns. With his father’s illness and poor decisions prior to his affliction, management of the casino has been experiencing issues.  Sebastian’s unusual decision regarding the acceptable behavior from high-rollers after Aria hit a particularly distasteful Russian gambler with a tray meant to hold drinks sets the story for the two to meet, and the sparks fly.  Each installment in this serial is 5 – 6 chapters, a whole book of 250 ish hard to put down pages. I’m not certain I agree with the marketing tactic on this – a single full length book would feel less daunting and frustrating to readers – but overall this was a solid and gripping read – full of tension, emotion and steam.  I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

This book takes up right where the first one left off and it is hot. This is the first sexual encounter between Sebastian and Aria. OMG so very sexy. It gives you a glimpse at what Sebastian has in mind for Aria, a BDSM relationship perhaps, and how Aria reacts to what Sebastian is doing. I am looking forward to learning more about the events that lead these two people into each other’s arms.

Aria decides to accept Sebastian offer. WOW! Hot! Sebastian sure likes his control and it seems that Aria is enjoying it too! ;) Not only does Sebastian want to own Aria, he also has this strong desire to take care of her. Aria is not sure how she feels about that. Something in her past is making her a little uncomfortable. Aria is at work and is out of of it and Sebastian realizes she has subdrop. He wants to remove her from work and she fights him. He explains there is no option, she either goes willingly or he will remove her....she has to choose!

This is the second installment of five.  It is again a quick read.  Things are heating up between Aria and Sebastian.  Aria feels her control slipping away when she is with Sebastian.  Sebastian is showing Aria how to gain the control he knows she desperately wants by exerting his control and getting her to surrender.  He is so gentle and kind but at the same time dominant and controlling.  And boy is he falling fast for Aria.  You find out a little more of their secrets.  Just enough to keep you wanting to read the next installment.   If you love the erotic stories with lots of "complex" characters and some really good sex scenes - then this is the series to read!! Play Me #2: Play Me Hot by Tracy Wolff is the second book in her 5-part serial, Play Me. Book 2 begins right where one left off... Tell me, Aria. How much does control mean to you? How far will you go to get it? ~ Sebastian ...up against the window in Sebastians penthouse level office. Right away we are treated to the wickedly hot stuff we were waiting on at the end of book one. I also learned some new things with this installment. During their first wicked interlude Sebastian notices Aria going into subspace (I looked it up, an endorphin high brought on my BDSM play, makes you sluggish, can cause a form of tunnel-vision, and happy happy etc). Immediately after their Ah-Maze-Ing scenes upagainst the office window overlooking Vegas Aria heads for the bathroom essentially shutting Sebastian out. Her issues are causing her to retreat from him and she heads back to work. After the type of "play" they just had there should have been some downtime, but there wasn't. As a result she heads into subdrop (after subspace, if not taken care of properly, the drastic drop in endorphin levels in the body can leave one feeling exhausted, depressed, lonely, miserable). He insists on taking care of her, SHE insists on finsihing out her shift and you can already tell the balance of power is going to be a constant battle between these two. He gives her a choice... "Choose," I tell her when I finally have my s*#t together enough to speak. "Now. Because one way or another, you're leaving this casino with me."~ Sebastian

3.5 - "I want to give her the world. Not make her afraid of it." Stars. The heat notches up a tad in the second installment of Tracy Wolff’s Play Me series. Sebastian and Aria, are definitely not just nurturing a boss/employee relationship anymore, and I think it is fair to say that a Dom/sub relationship is likely to be explored more as the novellas progress. I am really enjoying this series so far, although to be fair it is only the second novella of five. Tracy has offered up some inventive sexy-times, and a guy that has a talented tongue in more ways than one! ”I want my name on your lips. Almost as much as I want your taste on mine.” Onto part 3, let’s see where Ms. Wolff takes Sebastian and Aria as well as this reader next! 4.5 stars!! Now we get to the hot stuff!! When Aria and Sebastian finally get together, it's hot! Afterwards, Aria tries to play everything as if she's fine. Sebastian knows better and should not have let her leave his office like that. After watching her on the floor, he tries to be casual about making his way to her area. What he sees, is worse in person and he has to do something. But she won't let him. This book had me flipping pages so fast I, again, was disappointed it was over already. The author really knows how to keep you hooked on this series and end the book right where you need to know more. *I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

Aria gets up close with Sebastian when he takes her to his office for her lunch break. Let's just say they get really close. Spoilers. When they are done Aria goes back to work. He is worried when she isn't herself before her shift is over. Now she has to decide how to get home.

3.75 stars  PLAY ME HOT is the second installment in Tracy Wolff's adult, contemporary, erotic romance PLAY ME serial focusing on Vegas casino waitress and casino owner Sebastian Caine. This installment focuses on a hot and heavy sexual interlude between a dominant Sebastian and a willing Aria.  PLAY ME HOT looks at the needs and demands of Sebastian Caine. He is a man possessed by his need for Aria-a woman with secrets and the ability to destroy everything he fights to control.  The sex scenes are erotic and not without some controversy.  Sebastian will mark Aria as his own but the marks he leaves are more than skin deep-his dominant nature makes for some difficult sexual situations. The continuing story reveals some of the man that is Sebastian Caine. A man who wields power and control in all things but also a man whose need for control comes from a dark and lonely place.

WOW...this installment of the serial is HOT!!! The chemistry between Sebastian and Aria is blistering but the fight for control is still fierce. With his obsession for her burning, Sebastian gets Aria to his office and well from there..... Get this one! Definitely!
