Several appendixes contain protocols for managing breastfeeding challenges, including contraindications to breastfeeding, along with national and international policies.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide healthcare professionals responsible for educating breastfeeding families with a reference guide to standards related to breastfeeding practices as well as how to address concerns and problems associated with lactation.
Audience: This is intended for both new and experienced clinicians providing breastfeeding education, counseling, or support to childbearing families, as well as lactation specialists.
