Very plausible and gripping science fiction. Well thought out and fun to read

The first book in this series was pretty good. But the second got into a standard hidden agendas and evil corporations plot. This distracted from the discoveries and soon overshadowed everything. This final volume was just problem solving in a hostile environment. I was very disappointed. They had potential and lost it.
