Overview

Priest by Sierra Simone

There are many rules a priest can't break. A priest cannot marry. A priest cannot abandon his flock. A priest cannot forsake his God.

I've always been good at following rules.

Until she came.

My name is Tyler Anselm Bell. I'm twenty-nine years old. Six months ago, I broke my vow of celibacy on the altar of my own church, and God help me, I would do it again.

I am a priest and this is my confession.

I assumed this book would be super taboo, full of sex and just register as good overall to be soon forgotten on my reading list. Yes, it does have super hot sex, some of the best described scenes that I've ever read. And yes, some of it is very taboo, namely the places of the sex encounters. But— I loved the overall story and the man. I really liked that even though it is an erotic fantasy type of story it isn't dumbed down. Both the male and female leads are smart and relatable. They have actual conversation and thoughts about life issues (it isn't all about the nookie). He really cares about the church. Tyler is a good guy. He does do wrong by his office, but it isn't in blatant disregard. I don't think any other woman would have been an issue for him. There is an undeniable connection between these two. Another aspect that I like is that even though he has alpha and derogatory 'bedroom' ways, he really knows how to please a woman realistically, and he is a total women's rights advocate in all other aspects of life. Even though he desires things to go a certain way, he would never push someone to decide in his favor. He's a man who loves a certain woman and wants to have dirty, dirty sex with her. At the same time, he loves God, and he feels lead to serve others, to bless them with service, as I've heard said in church. He fills every moment helping the community in some way until his encounter with her. For me there was a message that sometimes life is going to lead you in a different direction that the one you had planned. The song line 'sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers' comes to mind. Occasionally, you have to find a new path and go do what's right for you even if you don't know if there will be a reward at the end. This story has elements of forgiveness, accepting mercy and letting go of hurt. Also, it definitely has flaming sex (as in you will need to allow yourself some 'me time' while reading).

This is easily one of the best books I've ever read. I can also say it was sexy and very hot. Sierra Simone didn't disappoint. This is a book I could read over and over. The words and storyline just flowed together seamlessly. Please read this book amd you'll see what I mean. Hot to the very last page. Father Bell is my new favorite Book Boyfriend

As a catholic, this one brought some cringes in me. But I loved the story. The taboo was real and quite moving in uncomfortable ways. But it was lust full in all the right places. I enjoyed it very much and will read it again at some point.

So...I thought I would be offended...but the story really made sense in a way. Loved the characters and the developed text. Though I am not a fan of sequels or turning books into movies, I would really enjoy both...with the right actors, of course. Hope to see more from this author!

As much as I would love to write the standard review for the book Priest I have a feeling that social media is going to whipped into a frenzy once people finish reading this book. The title alone begs to be noticed. Controversial? You bet So instead of my standard review I hope that you will take a few minutes to read my thoughts on social media, the ever changing book industry and the hope that before people judge they take the time to realize that books like Priest are not out to make a statement they are publish The title and the content of this book will spark many conversations. Some may feel the subject matter should not be written about and fictionalized in the way this author has. Others may revel and delight in the words and story that play out upon the pages. I think the most important thing that needs to be realized and remember is that this book along with countless others that spark such intense conversations is that it’s just a book. Fiction; A story created in the mind of an author. A place to escape, a place to leave real life behind and get lost in the world created by the imagination of others. To read and delight in situations that most likely will never happen in real life. Books such as this should entice, tempt, tease and take us into a world that only exists in our minds. A playground for grownups where wrong does not necessarily mean bad, where good does not always make us happy and where fantasies come to life. The book cover for Priest landed on my Facebook page from a friend saying I have a feeling you are going to want to read this. I did not head over to GoodReads to see what the book was about, I did not stalk Amazon for a pre-order. I went into reading Priest with no prior knowledge of the storyline. Something I am very happy I did. No expectations, no preconceived notions planted in my mind I opened the book and did not put it down until I had finished the entire story. Holy all that is hot and sinful. I have never read anything with such intense sexual situations. The raw, animalistic desire. The intense and spellbinding domination. The deep seated longing to be dirty and the soul shattering games the mind plays was written with such intensity and magnificence I was at the authors mercy begging for more. Characters that exploded with strength, tenderness, and confusion were written beyond perfection. Each and every character lending a much need and appreciated addition to a spellbinding story. Surprises, shock, awe and disbelief were perfectly injected within this all consuming story. Heartbreak, grief, love, passion, confusion, growth, self acceptance and worthiness were just a few of the emotions that played with my mind while I was reading. Priest: A Love Story was a perfect title. For me you see, it was just that a perfectly scripted story of love. A story of testing a persons moral and ethical beliefs. A story of loss and the grief. A story of redemption in many forms. A story of love so unconditional that it consumes you. A story of fighting to right the wrongs of the past and create a better future for others. A story of letting go of who and what you thought you were meant to be and allowing yourself to evolve into the person you never knew existed. Priest is a complicated, uncomplicated story of two people desperately searching for acceptance, love, life and happiness. It is a brilliant scripted story of finding yourself without ever knowing you were lost.

A fantastic book written from the Priest's POV as he struggles to decide whether he is living the life God wants him to lead or not really living at all.

This was my first Sierra Simone book and OMG it was probably the HOTTEST book I have ever read. Father Tyler Bell is the Priest in a small town Parrish for the last 3 years. Poppy is from a wealthy family and grew up with all that includes. She had the best education and opportunities but was restless and ended up in KCMO at a high end strip club. Poppy loved stripping but was feeling guilty that she shouldn't love that life. She moves to the small town where Tyler is the Priest. She comes into his confessional. Tyler is all about the rules and following them but Poppy calls to him in a way that makes him want to break all the rules. The story is told from Tyler's POV and deals with his struggles between being a Priest and a Man. The sexual tension is off the chart. I found it interesting to think about a Man of God dealing with struggles that regular people do. I guess I just forget that they are regular people too. I will be reading more by this author. I highly recommend this steamy read.

This book went beyond my expectations. From the very first chapter I was hooked. The subject of a forbidden love affair between a priest and a parishioner is a touchy one but Sierra Simone tackled it like a pro! The guilt felt by Father Bell and Poppy although different for each was subtle while exploring a new and different kind of relationship. This book and author were recommended to me for which I am grateful, and I am onto the next book, Sinner, Sean's story now. I can say I have another author to follow and automatically one click her books! This book is an emotionally charged, very hot read And I loved it!

MSatSea Not being a Catholic, I learned much about the Catholic expectations and was glad to see that the church has made an effort to correct some very inappropriate actions of earlier priests. The story here grabbed me from the beginning and brought to life the trials of a priest who was doing his best to do God's work, but found a weakness of his own while explaining to his flock about Jesus' pain and his forgiveness and love. I think the story was real life-like and the main characters were well developed. I had not read any other books by this author, but I will look for some now.

I liked the love story of the book. As a Catholic I have always felt that priests should marry. But I was very offended by this book. I get the love story but I felt the things that happen were really insulting and felt that it degraded my faith. Having sex on the alter of the church not once but several times was bad, the killer for me was when he use the sacramental oils so he could do her. This story was good it didn't need the added "extra" of degrading the faith of millions of people.

There was waaaay too much sacrilege. I was rooting for them but all the sexual things with holy objects in holy places was too much!

Sorry, but I did not like this book. I liked the premise of the story and I think it had great potential but I never really warmed up to Tyler. I rolled my eyes at the many times he was intimate with Poppy but would call it "almost sex" as if that would make it less of a vow breaking. It was ridiculous. I also hate the use of the word c*nt and he used it repeatedly like it was nothing. This read more like erotica and less of a love story. I'm all for public sex but at some point you have to draw the line at having sex in churches. That is beyond disrespectful and unwarranted.

Priest is worth the time to read if you like totally hot books. I loved it. There is a lot of dirty sex with a priest. Loved Tyler and Poppy but didn't like her at all when she left him. Was surprised by the ending and I loved it.
