In the distant future, with Earth near barren and men willing to commit to marriage almost non-existent, a group of young women leave to find husbands in the Outer Colonies. On their way they're hijacked by men from a rebel planet called Gaia.

Gaian men can only make love to a woman they match and Dr. Sarah Johnson turns out to be the match for the most hated Gaian of all, General Garran Doranth. To keep their promises, these two must look beyond what they think they know and learn to trust what they feel for each other.

About the Author

During the weekday Janet Miller, sometimes better known as Cricket Starr, is a mild-mannered software engineer who writes code and design documents. But at night and on weekends she turns to the creation of offbeat stories about imaginary pasts, presents, and futures, where ladies become warriors, or go to the stars to find love, and a man really can save a struggling software company.

But no matter when the story happens, or where the hero or heroine is, there will always be adventure, humor, and meaning to the tale.

Her writing has won her multiple awards, recommended reads, stars, unicorns, and hearts and even a couple of trophies that look really good on her bookshelf next to her printed books.

A sci-fi story of a planet needing women because of the nature of their men's mating ritual after a war of secession from Earth, and the woman doctor who volunteers with a friend to ship off a corrupt Earth. Exactly what has happened to Earth must be explained in one of the earlier stories of this series, because there are large gaps of explanation in this story. Although, I do agree with a previous reviewer's opinion on the repetition of narrative on the doctor's story - got you to wondering on the maturity level and/or the intelligence of her opinions without all the facts; also skimmed quite a few whiny pages. The premise of the story is basically good, just that the author gets stuck in a thought process. Angst, lots of drama, romance, some adult language, and sex scenes. If the Gaians landed on this planet, they need to bring several large ships to hold all the volunteer women. Time to find the exercise mat and get in shape - yoga any one??? This story can also be found in the free boxed triology set Rogues in Time. Happy reading.

Sarah is unhappy with her life on earth. Men who want to marry and have children are in short supply. Sarah decides to move to the Outer Colonies where men want wives. On the way she is kidnapped and given a different choice. Marry the most hated man on earth, the "Gaian Beast". I loved the story of Garran and Sarah. He is kind and he spends the book proving he would make a good husband. This book is the perfect balance of Sci-Fi and Romance. Read it! You won't regret it.

Just an ok read. The lead female character inner turmoil seemed to drag on and on. I ended up skimming some paragraphs. There were a few that were pretty much just a repeat of what was already written a few pages back. I liked the book idea and I have read a lot worse but I think this series will go in my "I got nothing else to read pile".
