About the Author

Dana Taylor writes books with a mystical touch. Born and raised in California, she attended the University of Redlands and received her B.A. with a theatre major. Her senior year sent her to Oklahoma for a theatre internship, which resulted in a whirlwind courtship and a long marriage. Her two romantic comedies, AINT LOVE GRAND? and DEVIL MOON: A MYSTIC ROMANCE are set in Americas heartland. Opposites attract, loveable characters, and a good dose of laughter.

Through the years, she and her husband raised two daughters and numerous animals, with varying results. A dog ate a hamster and the iguana escaped a homemade cage. One rabbit proved it could consume a remote with no ill effects (except to the remote.)The daughters turned out fine.

Her imagination led her to writing romantic adventures, also with a good dose of comedy. ROYAL REBEL began as a Romance Writers of America contest piece and grew into a full blown, spirited twist on the Robin Hood tale. PROUD HEART centers on Rosa Dominguez, a Hispanic heroine inspired by Danas grandmother. Her CHARMIN WARRIOR, hero, Jaguar Jack, has a psychic bent that grew from Ms. Taylors interest in paranormal and metaphysical matters.

Nowadays when she isnt writing, she is often giving Reiki energy healing treatments. Her interest began with the charismatic spiritual movement and led to the study of healing modalities. She is a Reiki Master in Southern California. Her non-fiction book EVER-FLOWING STREAMS: TAPPING INTO HEALING ENERGY chronicles her spiritual journey into alternative healing. She explores spirituality, energy healing, and wonder at her blog SupernalLiving.com. See all her books at DanaTaylorAuthor.com

I was given this book to review, and I am so thankful I was.  Proud Heart is an excellent example of what romance genre can be With a realistic setting, believable characters, and a style that draw the reader in, this is a delightful read .  The setting takes place in a period of history often overlooked. It is fascinating!  Ms. Taylor aptly described the character, land and events that made Oklahoma Oklahoma.  Rosa, Ricardo, Steven and Marva and believable, both in who they are and their responses to the events in their lives.  Although this is a romance, and follows the "formula", the story is much more than what it appears. It really is about how individuals have to be fully whole themselves before they can truly love another. The healing process makes for a great story.Treat yourself to a truly enjoyable read! You won't be disappointed, and you won't want to put it down!
