The Civil War robbed him of his identity and self-respect. Now he's ready to reclaim them both.

Twenty years ago, Union Soldier Ramsey Judd ran away in the middle of battle. He was forced to keep running under an assumed name to avoid being apprehended and charged with desertion. Pushing old age and faced with his own mortality, he finally starts the long journey home. Along the way, he stops in a little place in Idaho to pay his respects to the girl he left behind.

But a lot has changed in his absence. Instead of a warm welcome, Ramsey finds himself at the center of a conflict between revenge and greed. He has one last chance to make things right - unless his failing health, or the law, catches up with him first.

Discover the north central Idaho Territory circa 1884, as a saddle tramp with a price on his head sets out to clear his past.

About the Author

Tina Spencer lives in Troy, Idaho, where she's called home for fifty years. In 2008, she retired from the University of Idaho dining services in Moscow, Idaho, where she served as barista in campus coffee shops for eighteen years. Her father was born and raised in, and has strong ties to, the Salmon River country where this book started. He talked fondly of the area and told lots of stories of his boyhood growing up.

Writing in the spirit of adventure and happy endings, Pacific Northwest author Cindy Hiday has won numerous honors, including first place in the Kay Snow Awards for fiction from Willamette Writers. Her humorous literary novel, Father, Son & Grace (republished as Destination Stardust), is a five star Reader's Favorite and local book club choice. When she isn't writing, Cindy enjoys growing her own produce, nature hikes, and a nice red wine.
