I "accidentally" (by the grace of God!) stumbled across Michele Cushatt, and I've discovered the heart of love from our Heavenly Father flows through her pen straight to my own heart as I read her words. I think the reason why her words resonate so much with me is because she gives the reader permission to be human and broken while still reaching for hope at the same time. She states it well in the beginning of the book because she writes to readers who are "drowning in impossible questions that threaten to take down your faith." She writes to the "truth seeker who simply wants to know whether the God she's heard about isn't an illusion. And Michele writes to the one "who fears that your pain and losses are proof that God is disappointed in you, angry with you, and has left you." I read Michele's words in short bursts as I try to soak in all of the understanding, compassion, and hope she offers in the quest to show us the truth that GOD NEVER LEAVES! I'm learning that His love is truly relentless

Michele brings her characteristic honest vulnerability, deep faith, and beautiful writing style to this book. (Best writer ever!)
The opening vignette alone is worth the read, to see someone put into words the depths of pain that many of us have felt at one time or another.
In a time when we see church leaders abandoning faith in droves, it's heartening — no, it's inspiring and affirming and necessary — to remind ourselves that many ordinary Christians live out their hard days loving and praising God all the more.
Michele shows us how she walked out her faith when circumstances made her question God's presence. And she shows us by example how to shore up our own faith so that we remember God's presence in our own dark times.

Relentless can be life-changing, do not miss this read.
Through the 12 altars, Michele helps you examine in your own life, it can be so impactful. Suffering is real in all of our lives, it is so inspirational to hear how Michele lived in her suffering and the impact that suffering had on her faith.
Her willingness to be real in the struggle has encouraged me to examine my own faith in light of the seasons of struggles in my life.

Cushatt is vulnerable in this book. How deep and dark
your emotions can go when God brings you through crisis, not once but three times. Can we watching from the outside even pretend to know things like this? How can we help the physically broken ones? This book has taken me farther than I thought I could go. May it change my life.

I love this book! I think that if we, as Christians, are honest with ourselves, many of us have had the experience of a crisis of faith. There has been some circumstance in our life that has broken us so badly - that has thrust us into such deep despair - that left us feeling so utterly abandoned, even by the One we were sure would never leave. In Relentless, Michele Cushatt bares her heart and soul, taking the reader on a very personal journey through her own walk through the abyss. Through a study of Biblical principles and the sharing of her own wrestling with wavering faith, Michele shows us that our God is indeed relentless - in His unwavering love for us, His presence with us in our darkness, and His unyielding adoration for us, His beloved children.

Michele Cushatt’s Relentless is an honest, raw, and heartbreaking journey through one woman’s struggle to maintain her faith during horrendous physical and emotional trials. I saw myself in some of Michele’s sufferings, and seeing that someone could put words to my feelings was such a blessing! Michele maintains that even though we may suffer greatly and feel abandoned by God, He is always relentlessly pursuing us and staying close to help us and give us strength to endure. A powerful book revealing honest struggles to keep believing. This is not a one time read, but a book to keep close by for those times when we feel lost.

Cushatt has written a very personal narrative with details of the struggles she's faced as a result of experiencing oral cancer as well as other challenges.
Frank, real and sometimes raw, Michele shares from her heart the story of God's faithfulness and His presence, even in the midst of trial and turmoil.
Michele is honest about her questions and fears, yet clings to the unchanging God. She weaves biblical stories into this narrative, for example, connecting the dots between the cultural significance of Joshua's 12 stones and how habits of remembrance can still impact our lives now.
She writes in a way that is humble, yet candid. You can't rush through this book--trust me. There's too much good stuff here!!
This would be an amazing book to share with anyone in your life who has conquered a giant or two in their life. God is faithful, even in the hard.
That's the story, really, of "Relentless."
I read an early review copy, thanks to the publisher. All opinions are my own and I chose to review.
