RNA-Seq Differential Expression Analysis for Non-programmers: A DIY Guide for Biologists
RNA-Seq Differential Expression (DE) Analysis has traditionally required significant computer programming and I.T. skills, in order to install all the necessary software and utilize tools that are not provided as complete programs. This book is a DIY guide for non-computer gurus, that enables the average biologist to complete a DE analysis on their own, starting with nothing more than a basic understanding of the Unix environment. The book documents the simplest possible way to install all of the dozens of essential software tools, as well as new tools to replace those that require computer programming skills. The analysis presented here can be easily completed on any PC or Mac. As such, it is the ideal textbook for a college course geared toward biology students, and enables many more researchers to perform their own DE analysis.
