This book contains the sort of photography and stories I hope to have when I'm 90 years old. I met Grover in the Lexington Hotel in Jackson Hole in the early summer and was thoroughly impressed by the man. Even though he's a nonagenarian (90 year old), his mind is razor sharp. He can still recall events from his childhood in the depression, what type of sandwich he took to school, and some of the entertaining stories of how he first got into photography. The stories in this book are just as entertaining and enlightening as the photographs. So many people come to Jackson, WY, to try and capture these only to come away disappointed. What they don't realize is that it takes 10 years of dedicated shooting to achieve this quality and breadth of images. Grover has gone from processing his own film and working in the darkroom all the way to shooting with a mirrorless camera today. Even though he was in a scooter, he still gets around and personally meets with people. I also love the book because the paper has a matte watercolor look, so there's no glare. It adds a certain art feel to the book that other photography books just don't have. It's well worth the money, especially when I have a personally autographed version.
