A stranger steps in to rescue Dottie from both.

Before she even knows who he is, however, she's already called him Lucifer, and threatened to have him

tarred, feathered and run out of town by the new minister upon his arrival.

Not only that. She's balled up her fist and punched him straight in the eye.

"You, sir, are no gentleman," she quips, marching away.

Hoping she'll never have to see him again isn't TOO much to ask...
