Runaways, the Good Die Young, is the 3rd Marvel Comics trade paper back of a series that's now (January 2010) 13 books long. In the 1st TPB Alex, Karolina, Gert, Chase, Molly & Nico, a group of teens that have been friends because their parents were, discover that their parents are all secretly super-powered villains called the Pride that rule West coast crime. The shocked teenagers find strength in one another, running away from home & finding adventure vowing to turn the table on their evil legacy. By book 3, the kids have discovered more of their parents history & intent, as well as their own powers & determination. Karolina is an alien, Molly is a super-strong mutant, Gert is psionically connected to a Deinonychus-like dinosaur & Nico is bonded with the mystical Staff of One. Alex & Chase have worked hard to defend the group from their parents manipulations, including being framed for murder, & the team takes refuge in a mansion dubbed the Hostel, which had sunk below ground during an earthquake. In book 3, the fledgling heroes have decided to end their parent's criminal organization, they find out who their mole is & the battle reaches its shocking conclusion & the kids finally meet the beings who empowered their parents in the first place; the Gibborim! I think its fairly obvious that readers should start at the beginning of the whole series, but Vol. 4, True Believers, or Vol. 11, Dead Wrong are both the start of new story arcs & can be used as jumping on points. The different authors keep continuity, there are plenty of appearances by well known marvel characters such as Captain America, & Cloak & Dagger throughout the books. The art is simple & clear but also dynamic & strong. The concept of teens taking on their parents is timeless & its about time Marvel started using the 'next' generation of heroes!

This book had some twists and turns because alex is the mole. I thought that he was the main kid that would kill his parents but he was the one that was on the parents side and all this time i thought that molly was the one how was going to help the pride but i was wrong. Then Alex got killed by the gibborim.
