This book is derived form Power Systems Analysis by Jon J. Grainger. It also has a chapter on power system protection derived from Elements of Power System analysis (out of print) by William D. Stevenson, Jr.
It is far less comprehesive than the books it is derived from, but it is a much quicker read. The books it is derived from are old, but the material is still relevant.
