The main thing I learned from this book was how great Israel apparently is and how horrible Arabs are in comparison. There are whole chapters devoted to defending Israel, plenty of criticism of Saudi Arabia, and little to no mention of the terrible things that Israel has done over the years (with the support of the United States government). Read this book if you'd like to hear another one-sided, safe, establishment argument on world affairs, probably commissioned by Mossad.

Secrets of the Kingdom was just that. An inside look at the U.S. - Saudi relations never before known. I was fascinated from start to finish of the honest, poignant writing of the author. Some of the revelations in the book left me frightened because I know how true they are. This book should be a must read for every American. It is a huge wake up call.

This is an outstanding insight into US - Saudi relations that will change your view of the middle east forever. Written intelligently, yet easily understandable Posner does a remarkable job relaying his information in a clear and informative way. I highly recommend this book to anyone asking the quetion: Why did America seemingly ignor Saudi Arabia when looking for a war against terrorism?

This should be required reading for every American citizen. It provides a review of the history of Saudi Arabia and describes how America has sold it's soul for oil. Not only does it provide insight into the nomadic thinking of the Saudi royals it clearly answers the question about why Osama bin Laden and others of his ilk hate America and seek to distroy it. This was a fascinating and scary book to read. Posner has done a fabulous job.

If you¿re looking for a short history that covers the last few decades of U.S. relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, you¿ve come to one of the best sources. Posner weaves together rich, fascinating threads of details, anecdotes, and newly disclosed secrets that reveal how Saudi Arabia keeps the U.S. bent over an oil barrel. To readers knowledgeable about Saudi Arabia¿s rise from a sandy desert backwater of nomadic tribes to a powerful political negotiator, Posner provides an excellent review of the key events that other writers have already covered on this topic. However, Posner¿s insightful, brisk narrative strings together so many compelling details that it delivers a view both insightful and fresh. To readers new to this subject, this book delivers an in-depth analysis of how countries and other non-state factions gain and wield influence on the stage of world politics. Many of the main stakeholders in the Middle East come to life in Posner¿s book: the U.S., Britain, France, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, and Muslim groups such as al-Qaeda.

Gerald Posner may be one of the most under-rated writers in the World. His insight into this area of the world, Saudi Arabia, is also one of the best or worst secrets Americans don't know. It should be required reading. Saudi Arabia with all of the money from Oil is a despicable history including slavery that was more terrible than America, has the worst record of treating women, hates all Jews and wants to eliminate them from the earth, and is the largest fraud ever committed as a 'so called' Country. 60% of all insurgents who have conducted suicide bombs in Iraq are Saudis and 15 of the 19 911 suicide highjackers were Saudis. I find this book one of the best ever written about the truth of this Royal Family that is an oxymoron. I would not be suprised if Posner must have his own body guards because Radical Muslims especially Saudi Arabia hate Posner. Thank you Gerald Posner for a vastly superior book.
