I thought this was a good fast read, the romance developed a bit fast between the main characters, especially if one was getting out of a abusive relationship. The female main character seems like a ding bat but i liked her anyways I also liked the verbal flow between the characters and it ended happy so I say it was a win for us hea readers. I would like to read the next bk in this series. This storyline runs around 186 nk pgs...the cover was cute.....vw

I liked the storyline, it's cute. As you get deeper into the plot Ridge becomes more and more like a sexist though. My only complaint

Good story but lacks character development and logical believable situations.

Not what I was expecting when I first picked up the book. At times the foul language is not necessary but overlooking that, the conversations between characters is good. Since Ridge was a SEAL I expected him to be more mature and serious. He seems too young to have gone through a few tours and now is running his own business. It was good that he stayed in character throughout the book. I realize that I've gone back and forth in the review and truthfully that's how I felt while reading too. All in all, you probably will enjoy, so sit back and treat yourself! J

This was a good read. I like the relationship between Tabitha and Ridge. The suspense was good enough to keep you reading. Bennett and Katy should have stories too.

I loved reading about Tabitha and Ridge.

I loved the characters although it's a challenge to believe that Tabitha is really that clueless; it's difficult to accept that any young woman can reach her age and still be so naive, particularly when she lived in a city and has relocated to a very small town. On the other hand, Ridge is a wonderful depiction of the hero - always there to save the day and definitely his own man, not trusting anyone until they prove themselves. I enjoyed the story and am eager to read more books in this series. Let's hope our next female lead is a bit more grounded in reality.

Security Risk by Megan Matthews is a contemporary romance. Ms. Matthews has delivered a well-written book, a nice smooth read. Tabitha leaves her boyfriend behind after he slugs her in the face. Before she left, she copied his computer hard drive and lifted a bundle of money. She moves to Pelican Bay into the house her aunt left her. Ridge is her new neighbor and owner of Pelican Bay Security. Tabitha and Ridge's story is packed with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I enjoyed reading Security Risk and look forward to reading more from Megan Matthews in the future. Security Risk is book 1 of the Pelican Bay Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger. I voluntarily read a complimentary copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

**Received ARC for a fair and honest review** Security Risk is the first book in the Pelican Bay Security series by Megan Matthews. I’d rate this book at 4.75 stars!! Tabitha Thompson has had it with her boyfriends abuse and not only moves out, but takes a little money to help her get away from him. Not only does she move out but she moves across country to Pelican Bay Maine. When she arrives to the house she was left by her aunt, she ends up meeting her new hot, sexy neighbor Ridge Jefferson. When Ridge (or Ridley) meets his sexy new neighbor he’s completely infatuated by her. But when he finds out she’s in trouble he will not stop trying to help her out of it. This was such a fun read— gives you humor, suspense and romance all in just the right amounts! I breezed right through the book, was hard to put down! I really enjoyed the characters. Even though she’s been through her fair share of issues, you see her character evolving in the story, which I rather enjoyed. And how do you not enjoy a male counterpart that is not only tall, dark and handsome, but also kind, caring, accepting, but still an alpha male/guys guy. Then there are the sub characters! I really am looking forward/hoping they each get their own stories! The storyline was good, kept you interested, didn’t lag and didn’t drag out unnecessarily. The only gripe I can come up with, is right when they finally get together the story ends, there is an epilogue, but it really didn’t give you real closure. I’ve been noticing that a lot lately... just something that personally irks me. Can’t wait for the next book! Hope this helps! Happy Reading!!!

This is an amazing story. It's a perfect blend of humor, suspense, romance, action. It's well written and I like its fabulous character interaction and banter. I loved the quirky secondary characters and the small town setting. It had me from the first page, and made me feel like I was there. I received this book as a gift and I really enjoyed reading it. This is a very talented author and I look forward to reading more of her work. I voluntarily give this review.

I discovered this author from her series The Boys of RDA I loved all of those because of the wit and different take on a love story This new book is just as exciting I love the banter back and forth along with the suspense his family and Bennet would be great future stories Katy seems like a crazy girl but a great friend! I look forward to more books in this series

Plot and writing need a little work. Story needs to develop. Had what I was looking for. Romance, a little mystery. Definitely an author to watch.
