About the Author

Born in East Los Angeles during the Great Depression. Worked as a firefighter
for the Forest Service in most western states. Served with 1st Calvary
on the DMZ in Korea, and with the Peace Corps in Ecuador. Has a BSc in
Forest Management and worked for the Milwaukee Land Company and the
DNR in Washington. Migrated to Australia with wife and four kids. Worked
in Queensland as a Ganger II and NSW as a District Forester. Returned
to states and worked in Alaska for the Tlingit Native Corporations as a
Forester and Logger for twenty-two years. Now lives in Florence Oregon.
