Overview

A lust for adventure propels Lewis Sergeant from the woods of Oregon
to fight the Nazi from the Maginot Line to the shores of Dunkirk. Back to
France with the 101st Airborne he meets his best friend, the leader of the
Marquis in Normandy. After the war goes to Korea to build a South Korean
Army. Caught up in the Korean war he is wounded and loses an eye. This is
a story of a working class soldier and his many friends and lovers.

About the Author

Born in East Los Angeles during the Great Depression. Worked as a firefighter
for the Forest Service in most western states. Served with 1st Calvary
on the DMZ in Korea, and with the Peace Corps in Ecuador. Has a BSc in
Forest Management and worked for the Milwaukee Land Company and the
DNR in Washington. Migrated to Australia with wife and four kids. Worked
in Queensland as a Ganger II and NSW as a District Forester. Returned
to states and worked in Alaska for the Tlingit Native Corporations as a
Forester and Logger for twenty-two years. Now lives in Florence Oregon.
