Deb Strickland has her hands full—keeping her small newspaper in the black and her hands off hunky Jimmy Mission. The seriously sexy rancher has come home to settle down—and that's definitely not in Deb's plans. But faced with Jimmy's killer cowboy charm, Deb's awfully tempted to settle in with him for the duration…

Jimmy is looking for a wife—really. Only he can't seem to keep his mind off sassy city gal, Deb Strickland. He knows Deb wouldn't be much good on a ranch—but he'd bet she's incredible in bed! And as much as he wants the sexy, smart-mouthed beauty, he knows he'll never find out—unless he makes Deb an offer she can't refuse. An offer that's absolutely shameless

After reading and loving Midnight Kisses by Kimberly Raye, I was really looking forward to this month's Blaze, Shameless, for a great read at the beach.

Words cannot express my disappointment. Where were the lovable characters like in Midnight Kisses? The snappy dialogue, the OK-I'll-suspend-disbelief-because-this-is-so-much-fun-to-read plot?

From the first chapter I felt no sympathy for either hero or heroine and the plot was not one I could get into: basically an 'I want you in my bed, so we'll work out the court settlement in trade.' Two weeks of sex for sex's sake and then it's good-bye. By the time the hero and heroine got around to admitting there was something more, the book was nearly over. I also felt the hero acted too much the juvenile at times when attempting to get his point across, such as walking into Deb's office and throwing her over his shoulder in front of her co-workers.

The makings were there for a great summer sizzler of a read and I expected as much given Midnight Kisses. Unfortunately, Shameless never came close to living up to my expectations.

When Jimmy Mission returned to his hometown to of Inspiration, Texas, he never expected to see city girl, Deb Strickland running her grandmother¿s newspaper In Touch. He also never expected the chemistry between them. All he wants is a nice country girl to marry, raise kids, and work the ranch together. Deb is far from his first choice although he knows he desires her with all his soul.

Using the ole boys¿ network, Jimmy gains his first edge after a year of failure with Deb. He will drop the debt she owes him due to Judge Baines¿ questionable decision against her and in favor of Jimmy if she gives him two weeks of ¿fun¿ together. Unable to pay the cash she owes, Deb wonders if agreement will destroy her heart as she still remains haunted by last year¿s ten-second kiss and the ones he just bestowed on her quivering lips.

SHAMELESS is an entertaining contemporary romance that stars two charming combatants who know their beloved is definitely wrong for their respective lifestyles. The war between Deb and Jimmy is fun to observe, especially when his mission is so obvious and she still cannot halt his advances. Readers will enjoy this romantic romp even while they RESTLESSLY await the story of Jimmy¿s brother bad Jack.
