Driven by the whip of poverty into a lifestyle he despises, Glen Darcy, a likable boy from the hills, tries to save his family from the Martins, sworn to destroy them all. A brilliant performer on the dobro guitar, he finds little opportunity to ply his art in the hills. He is puzzled by the elfin, pale-haired girl from the glen.
