Written in 1992 it is timely and will remain relevant. If you hate studying sociology this book may give you a changed understanding of the subject.

This book really shook much my way of thinking about cultural relativism—I mean that in a good way. Basically, the book recounts various "sick" societies in an effort to show that it's probably not wise to think that we ought to consider every society good in itself. Ultimately, it's an attack on the old notion of the noble savage, and a formidable one at that.
