My name is Effy McPhee. Life hasn't always been kind to me, that is—until Stella. God gifted me with the most amazing daughter. I have one job: to teach her that true strength comes from kindness, love, and compassion. I vowed I would lead by example. I thought it would be easy. However, through no fault of my own, I fear I have failed her. This is the story of my life cut short.

I'm on vacation. At least, that's what everyone keeps telling me. I was just supposed to take a quick look at a case. What I ended up with was a very desperate six-year-old, clinging to me like her life depended on it. Little did I know, it did. Nothing is ever what it seems, it never is.

I just finished the first book in this series and started Silent Innocence it is just a good as the first one filled with mystery, crime, drama and love. The story hooked me almost from the first page, I could not put it down. This is a very emotional story that pulls the reader in keeping you invested in the story of one little girl as you read about her your emotions will be all over the place. I thought the author did a wonderful job dealing with touchy issues of human trafficking giving you the true feelings but in a way it was a little easier to deal with. Not saying this is something that is easy to deal with it is a serious issue that we should all be concern with. The author writes in a way that really touches you deeply wanting you to reach in and pull the characters out but is done with class giving it a feeling of realistic but not over bearing. I really like Fitz and getting to know him as we saw in the first book he is a man with character, honor who loves his job and his family. I really got to know him and MJ in the first book, it was wonderful to see her again. She is now married to Fitz, giving him the support he needs to do the job he does. It is wonderful how these two deal with life and the support they give each other. The author gives a well written story with many twists and turns, leaving Fitz not knowing who he can trust. This is a story about love, hope and family, giving, with suspense, mystery, action, and a few thrills and chills. It is a very emotional roller-coaster ride that keeps you so invested you are done with the book before you know it. I really hated to leave this characters behind and can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

This was such an addicting story. I didn't read the first story and I followed along well enough but I will go back and read it. A lot of the characters were introduced in the first book so I would have already had a reference for them. Fitz goes into work to help on a case and see a little girl there, she instantly latches onto him and he pieces together what happened. Her mom was kidnapped and now he has to go to work to try and solve this case. I don't want to give away anything else since it is a but of a mystery but it's a very engaging story and I loved the family dynamics. WIll definitely read more by this author and in this series.

Silent Innocence by Theresa Sederholt is the second book in her Fitz series and what a story it is! She has graced us with an amazing read that you simply cannot put down before you have come to the end. It is beyond me how well she mixes suspense with romance and the way she uses the points of views of different characters … it blows you away. Silent Innocence is obviously the story of Fitz and MJ and their family and friends that we met in the first book. The case he gets caught up in while on ‘vacation’ is heart-breaking. I cannot tell how much I cried, I definitely cried more than I laughed compared to the first story. It is not to say that the first book did not touch upon painful topics, it just was that this one, well … you need to read it for yourself. The case that Fitz gets involved in is of a little deaf six year old girl and her single mother and human trafficking and … I think it starts painting a picture … My goodness, Theresa Sederholt, you are a master with the brush, your imagination is humbling … Fitz stories are like a drug, I finished the first and second books back to back and I feel … empty … I want to know more about all the characters, I want to know what happens next, what the new case is about … I hope that the writer will not keep us waiting too long and we will be able to return to the world of Fitz and co soon!

Silent Innocence (A Fitz Series Book 2) by Theresa Sederholt 5 Amazingly Awesome Stars I couldn't wait to get a hold of this book after reading the first of this series, then I read it and was transported into the lives of these characters and I didn't want it to end, I miss them already. Reading this authors books just makes me feel good, I feel like these people are real and I could sit and read about them all day, even if there wasn't suspense and danger to read about. Her style is simply perfect and the way she tells these stories is spot on!! Fitz is awesome, how he treats MJ, and the family that took him in at such a young age, and his friends, and his cases and just everything about him. This author has created the ultimate book boyfriend in my opinion. He's not all macho alpha all the time and isn't afraid to show his vulnerable side. How he took on the case in this story while supposedly on vacation just showed who he really is. His respect and love for MJ shines through every time they are together, and his internal thoughts are sometimes hilarious…”If looks could kill, I know I’d be in Hell right now with a flaming pitchfork up my ass” MJ is the ultimate wife, she supports him in everything he does and knows him sometimes better than he knows himself. Her mama bear tendencies though sometimes put her in situations that keep Fitz on his toes. This story had me crying so hard while reading it, sometimes out of sadness and then sometimes out of happiness, and oh my gosh the picture on the cover of this book fit Stella perfectly. Anger played a big part in my feelings while reading this as well, I'm still so angry about the case but my anger is ten-fold still this minute at Stephen, I can't help but think there is more to this story, that or I just don't want to believe it. So my only hope now is that Theresa Sederholt writes really fast because I need more Fitz and the gang and can not wait to reread both of these books probably more than once. Many thanks to this author for giving me another favorite feel good series to follow!! #TeamFitz all the way!!

Silent Innocence by Theresa Sederholt is an emotionally epic rid that will leave your heart in tatters. I was once again sucked into Fitz's world of murder, and a mystery inside of a mystery that didn't stay away from his family. I loved how complex Theresa made the mystery. It wasn't just one thing, no it was a multitude of puzzle pieces that added up to an explosive ending that had me holding my breath. As with the first book, the writing in on point, the flow is fixed, and I loved the multi POV switches that gives you bits and pieces of the culprits actions, but not enough to fully understand the bigger game plan. This wonder can be read as a stand along, but I would suggest that you read the first book, Uniquely Mine, to get a better understanding of the characters. Take my high recommendation that if you love a good murder mystery that is more then just, a murder then you will love this book. Happy Reading. -E.A.Walsh

Silent Innocence (A Fitz Series Book 2) by Theresa Sederholt is the second book in her Fitz series. This is a standalone book but I highly recommend you going back and reading the first book also. You will get to know this author's amazing writing style along with her attention to details. Her creation of characters in this book are connectable and true to life. Her secondary characters are just as well developed as the main characters. In this story Fitz gets himself involved with another mystery even though he is suppose to be on vacation. He is a dedicated to his job and doesn't stop until he solves his case. He is working against the clock as he sets out to find a little girl mother who has been kidnapped and just happens to be the Senators daughter. When he notices the little girl not speaking, he starts signing with her and realizes that she is deaf. In my opinion, in this story we get to see a different side of Fitz. He shows a sensitive side with the child and how he takes the time with her. His feelings for his job and others really show through in this book. There are a few twists and turns that will leave on the edge of your seat, just waiting to see what will happen next. There is nothing he will do to protect those he loves. Will he find the mother in time? Is there more to this mystery then meets the eye? I highly recommend this book, you will totally get lost in the mystery and trying to solve the case right along with Fitz.
